Jon is never going to recover from this.
You can see it in his eyes.
Kit Harington did a terrific, compelling job in portraying a man who is just now realizing how horribly wrong he was. He didn’t listen to the people around him, he didn’t listen to Sansa and Arya and Sam, and now he is an accomplice to genocide.
The pain in his eyes as he watched children being killed and burned alive was almost unbearable.
And the worst part is… He helped.
His army helped.
His blind faith (real or not, it doesn’t really matter at this point) in this woman helped.
Jon is never going to recover from this guilt.
Never.
I feel so sad for him.
And maybe this is going to be the bittersweet ending for Jon, Sansa and Arya (and whatever is left of Bran). He is completely broken, a shadow of a man, and if he will ever recover, it won’t be easy and it won’t be soon.
But to me it feels like this terrible, atrocious crime will be the end of Jon Snow.
He won’t be able to forgive himself.
And maybe he shouldn’t.
EDIT: I’m not writing this with a smile on my face.
I love Jon.
It kills me to think that he was an accomplice to a crime against humanity. But he was, and the most heroic thing we can do now is look at the truth in the face.
I truly hope there will be some kind of recovery for him. It just doesn’t feel possible to me at this point.
Everybody’s talking about fertility, heroes and purity. But nobody seems to remember who rode a white horse before…
That wasn’t death carrying Arya to fullfil its revenge plan. It was Ned doing what he couldn’t do while he was alive, take her back home.

How many times did you watch Gendrya scenes from season 8 ?
