Which songs do you hope make it out of the vault for debut TV?

Do you know if "Welcome Distraction" was written by Taylor Swift? I heard it for the first time today and I have never seen it on a Taylor Unpublished list before. Do you maintain an authoritative list of all of her unpublished songs? It would be nice if you maintained that in a table, and then for each song list the authenticated versions as well as the fakes. People could treat that as a master reference.

There is an acoustic recording of Nashville that is all over Youtube and other Internet sites. Is there an additional version that was recorded that is not in concert? What is the history of that?

The live one is from a tour performance (not her song). The legitimate version is her song and you can't find it anywhere,

I've seen people claiming to have the piano version of We Were Happy. Is this likely?

This is very possible! There are a few confirmed people with WWH Piano.

You guys have That's When??? could you give us some info about it?? like is it a duet?? because rare Taylor pages are saying that :)

It's not a duet, but there are background vocals sung on the demo by a male (probably the co-writer).

Sorry, but we do not give out any Taylor Swift demos. Try to trade for it or wait for it to get further into circulation.

I noticed metro lyrics has a lot of fake songs and their "lyrics" up. (Kiss and tell, go bananas, transfusion, dear dindang, sparks, not my fault, etc.) Are there definite fakes or covers? Also, they have "lyrics" to uncirculated songs up. I figured you'll know more about this than me

I know that the "rare song" 7 years and 50 days was faked, right? But I found some lyrics online titled "going bananas" by Taylor swift. This sounded odd so I clicked on it and it seemed to be 7 years and 50 days. Is this a definite fake? If it is, shouldn't it be taken down from the site?

I'm assuming these two questions were from the same person.

These lyrics that are posted are fake lyrics because everybody can post lyrics on sites like metrolyrics etc. They were simply put up to deceive people and assist in scamming others. WIAB keeps an accurate, up-to-date list of unreleased songs so if you see a song that isn't on our list it is most likely a cover or a fake.

As far as we know, there is no studio version of Your Anything in existence, and we do not have it.

Do you really think now, being the huge superstar Taylor is, a few leaks of very, very old songs with no chance of release will bother her? It's a honest question, free of condesend.

I can't really be sure about that. As a businesswoman, Taylor probably recognizes that these songs still have uses and should not be leaked. It may also be a little embarrassing to her, like seeing old photographs of yourself in 7th grade. But, again, we really can't know. What we do know is that leaks cost money to maintain and could potentially alter the release of a song by another artist.

Do you guys know anything about the 'Backroad Sessions' where taylor performed (according to a fan forum) Tim McGraw/Dark Blue Tennessee, Tim McGraw (an alternate version of some sort) and Our Song? Also do you know anything about an acoustic version of Dark Blue Tennessee? Thanks.

I wouldn't believe that because Dark Blue Tennessee is a Fearless cut. It wouldn't make much sense for her to play Tim McGraw, Our Song and Dark Blue Tennessee. In the start of her career, she played songs like I'd Lie that ended up not making the album, but by the time she was preparing for Fearless, she wouldn't really play songs she wasn't sure were gonna end up on the album because she already had more serious issues about her songs. It's very likely that this might be a scam attempt, so I recommend you be careful. If you want to be sure, ask this person to send a clip/clips to our song checker ([email protected]) and they'll be able to help you with that.

How do you guys feel that WD leaked? I know you guys always push for trading of value to value with songs, not leaking. And I know how much Mitchell must've been hoping it wouldn't leak. I guess Tumblrs amping leaks up a bit...

I personally feel upset because leaking goes against our values and it costs people money when things leak, etc etc etc you know all those things. - Mitchell

I'm not sure I understand what you posted about the fake Nashville clip... Is it from another unreleased song or just someone who sounds vaguely like Taylor? And what do you mean by 'it's from the Rascal Flatts tour'?

It is Taylor singing, but it's just Taylor introducing Teardrops On My Guitar with some random lines she apparently made up at the time, and this performance happened at the Rascal Flatts tour. It's not another unreleased song and it's not rare. It's like Taylor is telling us about Teardrops on My Guitar, but instead of talking, she sung! - Maria.

Well, everyone who wants to have it has it now because, well, it's on the internet. It's fully circulated already. Personally, I think That's When is gonna leak next. - Maria.

sorry i don't really understand any of this terminology... what does it mean exactly for a song to be 'leaked'? if people have it, doesn't that mean it's been leaked from the studio?

We consider a song to be "leaked" when it is put on the internet.

when you say bolded songs are "out of circulation," what does that mean? that very few people have them, right?

Yes. What this means is that not enough people have them where they are actively being traded. For instance, you will probably not be able to find many people with "Nashville" and you certainly won't find that somebody is trading the song frequently.
