🍃🌕My Home Is Protected Spell Jar!🌕🍃
I made my first spell jar! Its purpose is to protect and cleanse my home, or the room it is in. It’s perfect for my dorm, and very easy to make!
🌱Everything inside this jar has some association with protection or cleansing or banishing negativity and creating a loving environment.
🌱What’s Inside: -3 dried bay leaves with various protection and safety sigils drawn on them -sage leaves -mint leaves -rosemary -charged full moon water -sea salt -a pinch of black pepper -some lemon peel -a small piece of clear quartz * I added some chicken bones in there since I’m very connected to the earth, and I feel as though the bones strengthen the spells connection and gives it an extra oomph, but that’s optional.
🌱You can add a chant or any other ingredients that fee right to you. I just told each ingredient its purpose in the jar and charged it with white candles and intent!
🌱Let me know if this jar is of help to you! I think it’s a perfect and simple spell jar for your altar or your room. 😊
made another anti anxiety spell jar because my job is awful!! 🥺
this is different than my other spell jar but i love it anyway.
what i used was:
- black salt (sucks up the negative energy, cleanses myself)
- lavender (to calm myself down)
- lemon balm (my favorite thing to get rid of stress; i make tea out of it too)
- chamomile (also another anti stress flower i make tea out of)
- sage (protect myself from the negativity at my job)
and then i sealed it with a purple wax and topped it with amethyst to project it all outward. i’m gonna keep it in my uniform pocket to hold when i’m stressing really bad

WARNING: This is a short list of common herbs used by witches, and in witchcraft, and is by no means a completed list. Most herbs, if not all herbs, have side effects, or can potentially interact with other medications. So, please, never take any herbal supplements, or herbal remedies unless you have consulted with a doctor, or a medical professional beforehand. Stay safe, honey bees!
basic ass witch tips 🔮
on some kind of medication, including but not limited to hormonal birth control, heart medication, and anti-depressants? you better double check with your doctor or pharmacist before you drink that new tea you just bought.
always, always, always tell your doctor or check with your pharmacist before trying any kind of herbal supplement, whether it’s something you made yourself or something you bought at the store.
have sensitive skin? dilute your essential oils before putting them anywhere near your skin or in your bathtub.
have a diagnosed medical condition? talk. to. your. doctor. before ingesting anything or putting anything on your body that you aren’t familiar with.
don’t. drink. essential. oils. essential oils are not consumable!!!!!
don’t put citrus oil on your skin and then go out into the sun unless you want a badass chemical burn.
don’t put any kind of damn essential oil on your skin without diluting it with a carrier oil. almond oil? olive oil? coconut oil? i don’t care. dilute your essential oils.
don’t put essential oils on your animals, diluted or not, point blank.
oh, and don’t put fucking crystals in their water bowls to “cleanse their chakras” or whatever the fuck.
speaking? of crystals? don’t put crystals in your bodily orifices. don’t put crystals in your own damn water. just don’t.
thinking about burning some kind of random herb in your house? you better make sure it’s not gonna release noxious fumes and murder your family.
speaking of random herbs - got the urge to forage for some herbs out in the wild? wear. fucking. gloves.
don’t burn incense or herbs around your pets. they have tiny, fragile respiratory systems and are super sensitive to that kinda shit.
gotta burn a candle down completely for a spell? you better not leave that shit unattended unless you want a house fire.
always. practice. fire. safety. that means, don’t go burning shit outside during a burn ban.
gods help me - if you wanna harvest your own blood via finger stick, stay away from dirty safety pins and needles and invest in some lancets.
drinking dirty water from outside can literally give you worms. boil your damn water.
oh yeah. moon water. everyone loves to make moon water. you know what happens when you leave a jar of water at room temperature? it stagnates and grows bacteria. refrigerate that shit.
fresh herbs or other things of that nature left at room temperature can also grow super harmful bacteria, for example, raw garlic submerged in oil at room temperature is a breeding ground for botulism and mold.

Some things you can add to your tea, as a witch
🍓 Berries - There’s nothing like a hot cup of camomile tea with a few fresh blueberries. Blueberries = Protection // Raspberries = Protection & Love // Strawberries = Love & Luck // Blackberries = Protection, Healing & Money
🍯 Honey - Adds that extra bit of sweetness and honey is great for love and binding. Green tea with a little honey would be the perfect start for a self-love spell or ritual.
🥛 Milk - I like to use almond milk. Almonds are great for fertility, money and luck spells. It also taste really good! I find taste best in black tea.
🍋 Lemon - Tastes great in green tea. Lemon is great for purifying and cleansing in spells and rituals. Would be an awesome tea to enjoy next time you do a cleansing meditation for your chakras.
🎄 Cinnamon - This one makes me think of winter and Yule but it taste so good. Especially when you pair it with a little bit of honey. Cinnamon is most commonly used in witchcraft related to healing, love, money and happiness.
🌿 Peppermint - It’s an acquired taste, for sure, but it’s very yummy in most teas and can help relieve nausea, gas and stomach cramps.
🥄 Ginger - Another that’s an acquired taste. It’ll definitely add a zing to your tea but it can help with flu symptoms and nausea. Used in witchcraft to help “speed things up” or “add passion” to spells.
All About Auras
An aura could best be described as the energy given off by someone or something. Supposedly, everything has an aura, even an apple. Many people are able to either see or ‘sense’ auras, which may appear as a haze of light or colour surrounding something.
The colour an aura appears can have many correspondences, which can relate to someone’s mood or spirituality, or can be because of external factors such as light intensity. It’s even said to be possible to tell if someone is pregnant from the way their aura appears.
Common misconceptions about auras:
It is always the same colour. - This is untrue, as auras tend to change colour when affected by many different factors. However one colour may be dominant.
It is always the same shape and texture. - Nope, they could appear hazy, smooth, or spiky. Some could have auras spanning an inch from their bodies, but others could have auras reaching out to a metre.
There is scientific evidence for auras. - Again, untrue. Despite many people being able to see auras, there is no way to measure them or comprehend why it is even there.
Your aura is a shield. - Whilst it’s possible to utilise your energy to shield yourself from things through visualisation, your aura alone is by no means a barrier against spirits and vampire-like entities looking to ‘feed off’ your energy. Learn how to ward yourself.
There is only one colour at a time. - Your visible aura can actually be a mix of colours. However, there are also seven different extents of your aura, ranging from physical to spiritual, which could all be a different colour at one time.
It is especially important to note that auras are constantly changing. This could be seen as Anicca, or impermanence, in which the Buddha taught that nothing is permanent and everything is constantly changing. The aura reflects this truth in ourselves and those around us.
Seeing Your Aura
Some people are able to see auras with ease without a whole lot of practice, whereas others might never be able to comprehend the aura. It is common for many witches to practice with seeing their aura.
Here is a simple exercise which will help you to begin seeing your aura. This is what I tend to get people to do often when starting with auras. If inexperienced, it is important to practice often in order to get better!
You may want to begin by meditating or casting a circle in order to have a better focus on your aura. Make sure you are calm and in the mindset to concentrate.
Find a blank area, such as a white wall or a sheet of paper, and hold your hand out to it. It is important that you don’t get distracted by the colour of the wall or anything on it.
Rather than focusing directly onto your hand, shift your gaze to look just past it. For instance just past your fingers, but not the space directly between your fingers.
Focus on this space. To avoid distracting yourself, practice steady breathing as you would in meditation.
Eventually, you should begin to see a haze of light surrounding your hand. At first it may appear small and even colourless, but keep practicing and you will start to see it even better.
Colour Correspondences
The colour of an aura can have many connotations, and can be dictated by thr shape and texture too. But here is a guide to help you with the typical deciption of simple aura colours.

simple charm to ward against negative spirits
I have a friend who has been experiencing a lot of poltergeist activity around them lately and they came to me for help since I’m the resident folk magic expert. This is the charm we came up with – it was super easy and if you do magic regularly you probably have all/most of this stuff on hand already.
A couple of notes: first, “negative” does not necessarily mean malevolent, evil, or demonic. Second, this charm is meant to repel disruptive spiritual energies (from human and non-human sources). This charm is not meant to get rid of the spirit – it will simply offer you some comfort and protection. If you choose to communicate with the spirit bothering you, please take caution and do your research, and if you feel that the presence is demonic, evil, or intends to do you harm, contact a religious authority or someone who is experienced with exorcisms.
What You Will Need:
a cloth bag or sachet of some kind (we reused an old velvet jewelry bag lol)
white sage (the kind you use for smudging – this is a different plant from common sage, although common sage will work in a pinch)
rosemary
star anise (this one isn’t a common kitchen ingredient for most people, but you can find it at any supermarket!)
Add the herbs to your bag, then take the bag, hold it in your hands, and charge it with your intent. I didn’t use an incantation for this one, but feel free to use one if you want to! We also sprinkled the pouch with holy water, since my friend and I are both Christians, but feel free to leave that out if it’s not something you’re comfortable with.
There are a few options for what to do with this little charm. You can keep it on your person (this is the best option if the disruptive spirit seems to be following you everywhere you go). If the spirit seems to be most active in a certain part of your home, place the charm in that room. The third option is to keep it next to your bed, to protect you when you are at your most vulnerable (this is what my friend decided to do).
If you’re reading this
a lump sum of crystals is headed your way✨
I made this secret code for all the closeted witches like me! Some of the letters are my design and some of from the secret codes on internet. I’m Turkish so there’s Turkish letters in this alphabet… But I made a X-Q bonus for you English speakers (wink wonk)
