| Threading |

Starter calls, plotting calls, and general threading are reserved for mutuals only ; memes and open starters are open to everyone. For starter calls and memes, please feel free to specify a muse if you want a particular one! Otherwise, if you don't, your fate will be in either my hands or The Wheel's. I actively discourage reblog karma on my blog, though. If you wish to reblog memes from me, I maintain and encourage that you should be able to without feeling obligated to send something in, and I much prefer receiving asks in genuine want of interaction or response. That being said, I will attempt to keep tabs on those who do express a preference for reblog karma, and I will try to send something in and/or reblog from the source for those individuals. I’m flexible with length, although I find that the length of threads generally grows with: 1) how much our characters have interacted, 2) how much we’ve talked ooc, and 3) the establishment of plot and direction. So if you’d like to write longer threads, please don’t hesitate to come talk to me.

The best way to get my attention for nonmutuals is to send in a meme ( recently posted or through the tag ; either way ). I neither follow back nor rp with minors, I'm sorry. I know there are some anxieties surrounding this topic, and I know it’s basic decency, but I still wish to explicitly state this : if you ever feel the need to unfollow/ block/ whatever me, please don’t be afraid or hesitate to, mutuals or not. I will not ask questions, vague, guilt, or hound you.  Do what makes you feel happy and safe on your blog, and please extend the same to me. As a note: Tumblr's been known to make blogs unfollow each other ; if you suspect this is the case, you're more than welcome to check with me. Unless otherwise requested, I prefer to softblock to break mutuals, so if I just unfollow it's probably tumblr.

Partner characters: I am a strong proponent of communication before shipping, so I do not autoship. I'm still delighted to write with you, though, so just come talk to me? Otherwise: I generally ship chemistry and within character sexuality, and I’m rather open to shipping possibilities. Mun AND muse, however, must be of age. For muse, this must be in canon and as portrayed. I won’t thread smut, so I ask that we fade to black, although I’m okay with discussing.  Sorry ‘bout that.

Joshua nods in agreement. Next time will be the final battle against Ultima, of course, and they can't do any mistake. They need to succeed, for everyone in Valisthea. Ultima is the biggest threat to the entire world. And as Dominants, it is their duties to make sure the future is safe for everyone.

"You are right, Dion. We have no other option," he replies. It is stressful, but Joshua is confident. It's like he has been raised to accomplish this battle, and with Clive and Dion, he knows they can win. Ultima better be ready. He plans to survive this and start living for good.

"We must see it through-" Where loss means catastrophe, Dion finds solace in companions acutely aware of that fact - and more so when they dare soften it. So as they regard Ultima, the future, possibilities, he blinks to the Phoenix - as steadfastly as they march forward, he holds the gaze.

He laments that they ( he ) was fooled the first time.

What happens Ultima, Dion knows not - whether he sees it is unimportant ; so long as Ultima's vanquished and Valisthea's future safeguarded will he near atonement. It brings no one back, the past cannot be undone, but he can linger here for those moving forward. "- that Ultima have no more dominion here."

The Phoenix's calm wisdom shone through as he turned his attention to Terence, cerulean gaze steady and prepared to meet whatever comes in its wake. Hands and fingers, included.

"Sir Terence, problems seem to be in no short supply these days." A mix of resigned acknowledgement and a touch of light-heartedness evident in his voice— hoping to ease the tension. "Tell me, what might that be?"

"It seems not," acquiesces Terence simply ; his boots thump to a stop. How he feels it in his bones ; he'd not yet been in the other's company long, at the Hideaway but for a blink, and it seems trouble follows in every footstep.

"The children are-" begins he. Terence doesn't sigh, though the breath's waiting in the slope of his shoulders. Instead he pauses, considers, and then, "- I think it would be best to show you."

Naturally, she'll accept the material ; its applications may be limited, unfortunately not extending to what what the poor woman had hoped, but it's a potent enough ingredient to be useful. There's always another to come through her doors, and surely one of them would see benefit still come of it. "I'll certainly have another use for this, don't you worry." A deep exhale. "My stocks go far too quickly."

Terence is caught off guard by her tenacity, having not expected to be snapped at by the resident physicker. It takes him a moment to recover, swallowing thickly before he takes a breath to attempt and rectify this.

"My sincerest apologies. My intention was not to cause upset. Mayhap we can start over?"

"You've not caused any upset -" The statement's suspended in the air a moment, creating space for pause. She's all too used to scolding patients into rest and recovery ; she need not use such a heavy hand here. It's perhaps knocked him a bit off kilter. "- but if you want, very well." She nods toward an infirmary chair. "Sit-" rest "- let us start over."

Joshua offers Terence a polite smile. He could tell the other seems very tired, and he doesn't want to cause any more problem. But he needed to warn Dion about Ultima, just like he wishes he could have him on his side against Ultima, too.

"I understand, Sir Terence. I assure you that what I want is the best for him, too. This is why I came here." That's the truth. He knows Dion is a good man, and hopefully, everything will go right from now.

Though Terence leans on Dion's trust in the man, his eyes search out more ( and he'll find nothing ) ; and while the dragoons follow the prince and the prince alone, an outside friendly face would be invaluable - particularly when they come so rarely.

He hopes it holds true.

"Then forgive my misstep, Your Grace." There are too many who would be apathetic to harm befalling Dion - so long as an end is achieved - and Terence serves as but eyes and a blade. "His Highness could do with more who are concerned for his welfare."

You'd best be one, too.

I'm google keywording my way to ultimania info tweets ( I don't have twitter rip ). I'm going to make a proper post at some point with solid decisions, but here are some preliminary thoughts/impressions for affected characters.

Also, this is going to be a living post, so I'll edit things in as I get to tweets and/or think of things to add.

Dion

He's on the younger side of the expected age range, where I as playing him on the older. This seems to be a pretty common take, and I think it's going to have a minimal effect on what I do with him. I think a lot of the other timeline stuff kind of checks out? I have thoughts I want to expand on more with this, particularly the events surrounding Olivier's birth and Dion's role in the dragoons. Like: -How convenient is it that he's made Holy Dragoon one year after Olivier's born, which he must relinquish his status as Crown Prince for, which then effectively clears the path to the crown for Olivier? On the political il/legitimate son/s level and just the family dynamics? -How this kind of just reinforces that Dion's just kind of viewed as a weapon, as in Sylvestre just casually commenting on watching Bahamut&Odin like a sports game? -Terence's humanizing effect
