[Coming Back]
Someone inside of Parker prevented him from rolling his eyes and slamming the door in the girls face. She had broken up with him. She was the one who left him high and dry when his brother died and life began to spiral seemingly out of control. Now she was back because more than likely there was something she needed and Parker was ready to deny whatever she needed because awhile ago she didn’t need him. But while she stood there at his doorstep all he could see was someone…who was just so fragile. His darling girl out, exposed, and unprotected without his arm around her and she squeezed at his side. Parker worked on a straight face staring down at her fiddle and fumble. He was about to make the complaint that she was letting all of the air out of his house by leaving this door open but he retracted it when he noticed her about to start speaking.
Her voice cut his heart and the familiarity reached to his soul with her desperate plea for him now. It was just like those cheesy love movies, where they break up and the girl comes crying back. Parker couldn’t help it as his face changed to one of irritation, the first thought of how she had broken up with him springing back to mind. He crossed his arms and figured to wait it out. Still, no matter what, he knew Willow like the back of his hand. She was terribly shaken and there was much more perhaps than she just “needing him”.
"You’re what."
Though his voice was cold and dry, there still was a twing of shock in his tone. The words hit him like a bombshell, much like the actor would react in those same cheesy films. Parker went silent, watching her sob shake her. “I’m sorry?” He wasn’t sure how to respond. They had broken up, hadn’t had sex for awhile and there was no doubt in his mind that the child wasn’t his. “Have you told the father this?” he dared to go on and ask.
"I'm pregnant," She repeated, the shake gone from her voice but travelling to her hands instead. She finally looked up at him, hurt by his cold voice but understanding why it was there - she had dumped him, out of necessity but perhaps he hadn't seen it that way. She had hurt him, and now she was back - to do what? Willow didn't know why she was back, what good could Parker do now? They were broken up and she was pregnant with another man's child. He hadn't been there when she needed him, when she was getting attacked at a party that she was at because of him. But could she really blame him? He hadn't asked her to show up to the party, but she had anyway.. to search for him.
The whole ordeal made her head ache.
She shook her head, one hand lifting up as if she was reaching out for him, but she quickly thought otherwise and dropped her hand to her side. "Parker.." She whispered his name like it was a promise, and once upon a time, it had been. A promise of their golden age, one where they would get married, one where she'd be pregnant with his baby instead of some stranger's. "I--I don't know who the dad is." She cringed, realizing how badly that sounded. "Not like that. I.." She took a deep breath, looking at him in the eyes. She recognized the person she once loved deep in there, but he was different now. So different. "At a party. I was roofied and..." Her face contorted and a sob escaped her lips, her hands flying to her face so her next words came out muffled. "He raped me, Parker."
