Okay but can I talk about Vanitus getting to chose darkness?

Kh does a lot of talk about light vs darkness, but it frames the choice of darkness as not only the inevitable loser, but also not a viable option, despite it being the ultimate factor of forward movement through the series.

We see Riku, who is able to walk the twilight road aka walk the line between dark and light, but he doesn’t embrace the darkness, treating it more like a poison that he’s expunging from his being at all times despite having a strong control of it.

I personally love the idea of him being able to own darkness, and define what the right way to use it is, of course with help from all his family.

#which lets face it #consists of literally everyone #riku and he sparing using their darkness abilities? having long conversations about ethical applications of such #aqua and terra and I cuddle him and tease him about things we know he has to work on #and he’d do the same for us #it’d be hard at first #because i think he’s scared to fail #he may not say it #but i think were all afraid to mess up #and for good reason #facing the consequences of your actions is a very brave act #honestly Ive been scared a lot myself lately #man i really went stream of conciousness on this post #aqua #terra #vanitus #riku
