Honestly my heart literally dropped. My brother too. Both of us were very silent during dinner and my parents asked what happened. I told them, and their responses were cold. My dad said “why would you be sad when he’s the one who didn’t appreciate his own life?” My mom said “why are you so bad at controlling your emotions? That person doesn’t even know you” look, this isn’t about that person not knowing me or that this issue doesn’t involve me. Is it so wrong to feel sad for someone who’d passed even if I don’t know that certain person?

I really hate how my family thinks that depression is just something that doesn’t affect one’s life. It angers me whenever my parents gave remarks like “he/she didn’t appreciate what they’re given” or “he/she doesn’t even care about their family and friends” and this tires me so much. When my parents gave those remarks during dinner I literally stopped talking. I’m so upset. Why can’t they understand? Why can’t they understand that idols are humans and that they have things that they can’t speak up because of their situation? Why can’t they understand that idols are also going through hard times while trying to make other people happy too?

Whatever it is, my prayers are with jonghyun’s family, friends and shawols. Please always stay strong. Rest in peace, Kim Jonghyun.
