Riders of Justice (2020)
Ophelia has an unhealthy obsession with Awakened Beings, due to traumatization after watching Priscilla kill her family. She insists on hunting only Awakened Beings, ignoring normal Yoma, and even goes to the length of forcing other Claymores to awaken just so she could fight them, such as in the cases of Clare, Miria, and Hilda. Her hatred is so deeply rooted that when she herself Awakens, she is distraught from having become one of the “monsters” she sought to destroy, and chooses to allow Clare to take her life.
Oh hi there, cuttlefish
Less widely known than their cephalopod cousins the octopus and squid, cuttlefish are masters of disguise. They conceal themselves using chromatophores, which are specialized skin cells that hold pigment and reflect light. With up to 200 of these cells per square millimeter, cuttlefish can transform their appearance with a variety of hues and patterns. When vying for a mate, for example, some male cuttlefish will showcase “intense zebra displays,” creating an almost hypnotic pattern of animated stripes. Cuttlefish also boast one of the largest brain-to-body size ratios of any invertebrate. According to some scientists studying cephalopod learning, cuttlefish can use visual clues to solve mazes, making them more intelligent than many vertebrates and land mammals. Photo: Peter Hellberg
Last night I had the chance to talk to Colin about my surgery as well as my treatment and how painful the whole procedure is. I told him how AMENRA’s music helps me cope with the feelings of anger and sadness that come with what I’m going through at the moment. He did not break eye contact throughout the whole thing. He did not interrupt, he did not say a thing. As soon as I finished speaking, as soon as I said “you help me so much” he squeezed me in his arms, he gave me the warmest hug and he did not let go until he said “I hope we never let you down.”
In an interview he said “The more I draw pain towards me, the more I can save those I love from pain. That was the thing which I settled myself, in which I found peace.”
On stage he seemed at peace, or in his element if you will. However, as the gig progressed he seemed more and more broken, beaten down. It was as if he was channelling everyone’s pain towards him. We knew the gig was over when he quickly waved at the crowd and walked off.
Pain is indeed shapeless. It does come in all shapes and sizes. Amenra made me feel stronger after that night. I wake up and feel that I can take care of myself again, even if I’m not anywhere near halfway of my treatment.
I took this picture during their soundcheck.
