I scrambled to get this done quickly before the mourning period officially ends, so please hit me up if there’s anything I missed. As insignificant of a tribute as this is, I’d like to remember the Duke in my own way, and I turned to the second best thing I knew how to. The Danish actress, director, singer and model rose to stardom through her work with director Jean-Luc Godard, her first husband. They collaborated together in seven movies: Le petit soldat, Une femme est une femme, Vivre sa vie, Bande à part, Pierrot le fou, Alphaville, and Made in U.S.A. Named “the femme fatale of 1965” (a title which she opposed to), Anna Karina is one of the most iconic women of French cinema and of the 1960s overall.
