Her empathy once upon a time might have been enough to reach out and comfort creatures like this. Today she is still as stone, though knowing that this icy reception of his inquires would make her appear lacking as a welcoming queen, she exhales slowly through her snout.

“My ascension was one born from a natural phenomenon twisted. The power that came with it is, as far as I know and hope, unrepeatable.” She fixes emphasis to the last word, makes a point that should there ever be a creature alive to attempt it, she would be an immediate interjection of it. “That being said, no pony’s power is finite. Look to the soon-to-be legends of Canterlot’s most recently crowned. Ponies like Twilight Sparkle can surpass the threshold with more than mere study or physical training. It is... something more.” While the outside world is something she has not visited in centuries, be it out of lack of interest to do so or another unspoken reason, she knows the stories. The rumors are carried on the wind to the Glacial Court, and as she descends her throne to take to the clear, icy steps leading to Royal Blue, she once again holds him with that long, distant stare. “This is not something that can be taught. If you seek ascension—divinity—then you will earn it by doing no more than what you have done thus far.” As she reaches him, she towers. Her stature as a Stoat was once impressive when compared to the more equine sister race but now, as an Alicorn, she looms over many of her guests. The underside of her muzzle brushes against the collar of pristine fur and cold amber irises look him up and down, before she raises a paw and places it over his chest. Over his heart. “Live.”

What do you smell like?

Winter Solstice smells, as best as her subjects can describe, like the feeling of stepping out of your home into the emptiness of a tundra; the warmth of your throat being kidnapped and replaced by nothing but burning cold. It lingers, haunts, but it does not hurt you.

If you ask those she is closest to—a storyteller, an entity of chaos, or the snowy beauty who dwells in her Court—there are undertones to that sting. There is, when you push past the absence of scent, the whisper a of lavender spring.

Winter sets her sights upon the prince with what one could best describe as monarchal examination—judgement not of him as a pony, but with the intensity of sifting through his entire family tree, from top leaf to deepest root. When she finds herself satisfied, she speaks. "My kingdom is more than snow and ice, little lordling. My kingdom is eternity; where a snowflake falls from the heavens and touches down upon the earth, feeding into it the briefest but most powerful magic, permanent in it's impression on the world, I am there." But she knows this is a wordy response, knows that for one so young the effect of her aspect means little. So instead she tilts her muzzle a touch and tries again. "Echo’s Tundradaz is as it always has been, stable wellbeing for my subjects and a steady incline of resource development to satisfy the populi's more integral needs. Only a few days ago did my mages begin studying the extended longevity of the common tomato plant." It goes on like this for twenty or so more minutes.

Her left wing unfurls and spreads glittering flight feathers to the east, casting attention to the towering frosted glass of the throne room windows. Outside, thousands of lights dot the snowy capital with signs of abundant life.

"You have traveled far to reach the Tundradaz; although in recent months the path here has opened more hospitably for your... fragile forms, decades have passed long and in stasis without visitors. As ruler of this kingdom, it is my duty to provide you with succor. Please, feel free to tour the city to your heart's content."

Winter Solstice buffers between the garish garment adorning her person and the guest that graces the Court, and although neither had been particularly invited, her wings fold with enough regal composure maintained. Stiffly, mostly due to the itchy yarn, she bows her head. "Unexpected, yes, but all the same I shall thank you for your..." Her head lifts and her brow knits a touch. "Gift. I shall see that it is safely placed among the others in my treasury." Without further delay her horn emits the soft light of levitation, pulling the sweater from her and folding neatly as it stays afloat, vanishing thereafter behind the throne.
