She Bananagrams next to the other games.
“Sure go ahead. I’ll go make the popcorn.”
“Do you think they’ll want to, though?” Piano asked, a little uncertain about how the other DCNs felt about her presence, even after all this time. “You don’t have to ask.”
Still, it would be fun to try some of the more horror-themed games. She was definitely going to investigate those once Waltz was out the door, and lament not being able to play them.
Waltz paused on her way out and turned to Piano. She knew that tone.
“Of course they would. Well Bright might not like the scary games, but he’d still like to play with us.”
She took a hold of Piano’s hand. She hated having her look so upset. It made something in her core twist painfully.
“Why do you think they wouldn’t?”

Waltz led Piano up the stares of the castle like laboratory and down a hall to an orange door plastered with bat and black cat cut outs. She opened the door to reveal a large but still cozy room lit in a orange light from strings of fairy lights.
“Um well I got some games, both board and video, or we could watch something on Netflix. I can even make popcorn if you want.”
Her eagerness and energy at seeing Piano was now getting drowned out by her nervousness at figuring out what to do next. She really wanted Piano to have fun while they were together and to see her smile. Waltz really like Piano’s smile.
Walking into Waltz’s room brought a sense of familiarity that almost felt like coming home. Her room felt like the safest and most welcoming place in all of the Cossack household. Piano was going to sit down, not yet noticing that Waltz was becoming nervous.
“Those all sound fun! Maybe a board game first? I haven’t played one of those in a while,” Piano said, a smile still on her face. “Popcorn sounds nice, did you want me to help?”
“Ok I’ve got a lot of board games Haunted House on a Hill, Eldritch Horror, Clue.. wait those all need more than 2 players. Um… I have Hive, Codenames, and some card games. Oh I also have Bananagrams.”
She crouched down and pulled out a banana shaped bag from the bottom shelf where she’d shoved most of Kalinka’s old games that had been given to her. Bananagrams was one of the few she’d actually liked. Mostly because it wasn’t princess themed.
“Oh um sure you can help me if you like, or you can stay here and pick out a game.”
“Aw, those sounded fun!” Piano complained, though she didn’t hang onto it for more than three seconds. “Oh well. Bananagrams sounds good to start! Then maybe we could watch Netflix, or just read show descriptions and laugh at them.”
“Can I look at the other games while you make popcorn?”
