Lessons from Inanna ✨
Maybe the liminal space isn't just the threshold between one thing & another.
Maybe it is also the place where compromise lives.
Not compromise as surrender. Not compromise as making yourself smaller. Not compromise as giving up what matters.
But compromise as alchemy.
The sacred third option.
The moment you realize the choice was never between all & nothing. There was always another door. Another shape. Another way to make something fit.
Inanna moves between heaven & earth, love & war, power & vulnerability, descent & return. She doesn't belong neatly to one side of anything.
So maybe one of her lessons is this:
When two truths are fighting inside you, don't immediately ask which one has to die.
Ask what they are trying to become together.
Y'all I'm about to start crying (positively) there is a man who has tried to recreate recipes from Mesopotamia and is sharing stories and he wrote a whole cookbook and he is talking about the gods!! He's talking about Inanna! Here is his website it's called Table Of The Gods! The cookbook isn't out yet but I've got the recipe for cookies and I can't wait to make them because they! May have been made her honor!!
The hearth is patient.
It does not measure your worth by how much you accomplished today.
Wash a dish. Light a candle. Pick up a single thing from the floor.
Rest.
The magic is not in never stopping.
The magic is in returning.

dni if you have no whimsy and no joy for the miracles found within the mundane
Some offerings are flame & resin.
Some are silence.
Some are laughter through smoke on a hazy afternoon.
& if I lift my joy with reverence,
perhaps that, too, is prayer.
Sometimes disbelief is just discernment before the right language arrives.
Hail Inanna, goddess of storm & soil.
Ephemeral & radiant Queen, who shines like lightning streaking across the sky.
She who brings the storms as well as the sunshine, allowing nature to thrive.
Flowers bloom gracefully across the land through Your will, proof of Your resplendent power & beauty.
Thank You, my goddess, for the grace that allows all living things to exist.
You are the miracle that creates miracles.
Hail Inanna
Radiant Queen of Heaven,
She who brings the kiss of dawn.
Lady of the Morning Star,
Silk-clad Sovereign of the skies,
Flame that rises over shadow,
Voice that stirs the sleeping earth.
Where Your light falls,
night loosens its grip.
Where Your name is spoken,
the heart remembers its fire.
You who descend & return,
who wear both crown & storm
walk beside us in the liminal hour,
between darkness & the first gold of day.
May Your star rise in our spirits
as surely as it rises in the sky.
Hail Inanna,
Queen of Heaven & Earth.
Hail Inanna.
In the dark.
In the quiet.
In the long middle of winter. ❄️🕯
Let it be known.
I worship the Goddess.
[...]
She is naked and savouring every petal and thorn.
She churns the wheel of time and casts the seeds of manifestation, without rhyme or reason.
She is senseless and crazy, innocent and free.
Her skin is the colour of heartbreak and her eyes the sound of laughter.
She takes no prisoners. She cannot be contained or rationalized.
She won’t conform to my ideas of what reality is or how things should be.
Just when I think I have her under control she takes – me – down.
She will not be dominated; she always wins.
[...]
She is the undercover agent of divine madness,
whose ruthlessness is the compassion that severs my ignorance and undoes my separation,
so that I may know her deeply and drink in the wild radiance of her holy mess.
With all that I am I submit to her.
With all that I am I prostrate before her insane beauty.
She demands the death of all my control.
When I am humble and true, she comes to me.
“Dance!” she says. “Why aren’t you dancing?”
I surrender all reason; she will not be tamed.

Maya Luna - Hymn to Inanna
The moon is Inanna’s pattern written in light.
Waxing & waning, descent & return.
Her story told without words.
i do wish that people understood that paganism is not one universal belief/set of beliefs
even within one category, like, say, celtic paganism, there are many branches. do you mean welsh paganism? irish paganism? general brythonic? what about gaulic?
and even if you do pick one, it can be broken down further
i am a welsh pagan. i do not believe in gods. i actively seek out and work alongside fairies. there are other welsh pagans who do believe in gods, others who think fairies must be avoided, some who purely operate on spell-craft with no degree of veneration, etc
to me part of what makes paganism so special is how broad it is
there may be aspects of overlap, but it is so far from one thing!
