𝙱𝙴𝙸𝙽𝙶 𝚄𝙽𝙰𝙱𝙻𝙴 𝚃𝙾 𝚁𝙴𝙰𝙻𝙻𝚈 𝙶𝙴𝚃 𝙷𝙸𝚂 𝙷𝙰𝙽𝙳𝚂 𝙳𝙸𝚁𝚃𝚈, 𝚃𝙾 𝙰𝙲𝚃𝚄𝙰𝙻𝙻𝚈 𝙷𝙰𝚅𝙴 𝙰 𝚁𝙴𝙰𝙻 𝙶𝚁𝙸𝙿 𝚃𝙾 𝙷𝙾𝙻𝙳 𝙸𝙽 𝚃𝙷𝙸𝚂 𝙺𝙸𝙽𝙳 𝙾𝙵 𝙾𝙿𝙴𝚁𝙰𝚃𝙸𝙾𝙽 & 𝙸𝙽𝚂𝚃𝙴𝙰𝙳 𝚁𝙴𝙼𝙰𝙸𝙽𝙸𝙽𝙶 𝙳𝙴𝙻𝙴𝙶𝙰𝚃𝙴𝙳 𝚃𝙾 𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙱𝙰𝙲𝙺𝙱𝚄𝚁𝙽𝙴𝚁 𝙸𝙽 𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝚂𝙷𝙰𝙳𝙾𝚆𝚂 - 𝙸𝚃 𝚆𝙰𝚂𝙽'𝚃 𝚂𝙾𝙼𝙴𝚃𝙷𝙸𝙽𝙶 𝙷𝙴 𝙿𝙰𝚁𝚃𝙸𝙲𝚄𝙻𝙰𝚁𝙻𝚈 𝙴𝙽𝙹𝙾𝚈𝙴𝙳. But these were sensitive times. Sensitive times with a sensitive amount of pressure that held the chance of blowing back, not just on him, not just on Ethan & his family, but growing to a more global threat should things continue on as they were.
Miranda was dangerous - but with her attention firmly remaining fixated on Ethan as he rummaged & fought his way through her home territory - it was … admittedly, something of a blessing, however much it came at the sacrifice of Winters. He clenches his teeth with a deep, seemingly ingrained frown. Stick to the shadows - keep his mind on the end goal & remember the risks that come if he fucks this up any more.
Eyes kept to a dangerous narrow, glare kept sharp like a knife’s razor edge, the Operative moves like a ghost across the fallen Village, careful in his dispatching of any stray hostiles that cross his path, taking care not to be seen or linger in plain sight for all too long as his men continue to scout out the remaining Lords hideaways.
That kind of quiet only heralds more destruction in his experience, so he slows things down & cuts contact with his teams, willing them to continue on their given tasks without his input for the time being as he tries to figure out who this newcomer was. He doesn’t have any intel on her, no idea who she is or what her goals are outside of the connection she must share with Miranda like everyone else in this damned place.
Keeping his posture as relaxed as he can manage, all in a hopefully disarming manner, he turns to cast a glance over to the woman. Ice in his eyes, something cold but solid in it’s lack of wavering, he isn’t quite yet sure if his weapons will do much against her if she chooses to react violently. For now? She seems to want to talk.
“sera.” she chirped. “s-e-r-a, if you need specifics.” the brunette adds with a slight shrug of her shoulders. it’s obvious by her posture that she’s more relaxed than him but of course, it can quickly change. not that sera is going to do anything, not unless the man does it first. she’s not cruel or a sadist like lady dimitrescu or her daughters ( she’s heard and seen what happened to those that enter the castle ).
also why make things more difficult? plus the man might have abit of information, since apparently he’s been a nuisance to mother miranda for a while. even if he doesn’t, he might know someone who does.
“i wouldn’t worry much, i’m not the killing type.” though that probably wasn’t reassuring given the large sword strapped to her back. she undoes the clasp and lets the heavy blade fall to the ground before rolling her shoulders and letting out a small sigh of relief as the hefty weight is taken off her back. “look, i know what you and your team are here for⸺“ she also has the advantage of knowing where each and everyone of them are given that she has eyes and ears everywhere as long there is snow.
“⸺to be fair, mother miranda has sent me to try and slow ya down since she knows that you and your team are following her but honestly, if there’s a chance that i can get away from mother miranda, i need to take that chance, no matter how small it is. hence why i want to chat.”
