đđč Hunterâs Moon đčđ
what is the hunterâs moon?
đ it is the full moon of october, the last full moon before Samhain. the name of the moon references the transition of summer into autumn. with the approaching winter and in contrast to the harvest moon, it bids us to consider how we are at odds with nature rather than how we fit into it.Â
what does that mean for witchcraft?
đč Â again survival based magic comes back into light, from money, home, and protection spells. it suggests an inward look at how oneâs person fits into the grand scheme of nature and life.Â
đ Â this is considered a good time to look for spiritual guides and omens. there is some consensus about the increase in spiritual activity and liminal spaces. based on each witchâs personal confidence in their skill, whether to protect against spirits, or to take this opportunity to communicate

A Witchâs Guide to Cinnamon
Cinnamon is a very delicious spice. Itâs in my favorite treats like cinnamon rolls and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Although I love itâs flavor I didnât know much about it so hereâs what Iâve learned in my research on it.
Cinnamon is associated with the element fire and the sun. Gods that are also associated with cinnamon are Athena, Oya, Ra and Apollo Planets associated with cinnamon are mercury, the sun, mars and Uranus
Magical properties include:
healing
Drawing money
Happiness
Love
Luck
Protection
When used as an oil you can anoint objects for healing and blessing rituals ( make sure to dilute it with a carrier oil)
Cinnamon can help creat the holiness and specialness of your alter room and raise spiritual vibrations.
Mixing lemon, honey and cinnamon sicks in warm water helps greatly with sore throats. It also helps with upset stomachs. People who are pregnant or have stomach ulcers should not take large doses of cinnamon.
âWhen it comes to being gentle, start with yourself. Donât get upset with your imperfections. Being disappointed by failure is understandable, but it shouldnât turn into bitterness or spite directed at yourself.â

Autumnal Magic pt 2: Cinnamon Brooms
Did you know that Cinnamon Brooms are actually made from pine, and then dressed with Cinnamon oil? So, letâs break it down!
Pine: Cleanses, protects, brings prosperity
Cinnamon: success, love, draws in prosperity.
Brooms: used to sweep negative energies away.
Put it all together and a Cinnamon Broom is used to protect your home from unwanted energies, to allow love to flow in, and to bring you prosperity. You can hang it above your door, inside or out. You can perch it against your front or back door if the scent is too strong for you to keep indoors.Â
Want to really sweep some negative energy? Start at one corner of your home and sweep towards the middle. Do this at every corner of your home. Once youâve swept all the energy to the middle, open a door and sweep that right on out!Â
If your broom loses itâs scent (and you want it back), steam your broom and dress it with new cinnamon oil. Or, leave it as it is and dress it up with crystals, ribbons, paint - whatever you want - and say a chant over it for protection, love, etc. Be creative! Itâs your broom now. Just be sure to take good care of it: donât let it collect dust, donât let spiders make webs in it, donât let leaves catch in it.Â
But where can I buy a cinnamon broom?
These are some places they can be commonly found in the U.S.:
Kroger
Trader Joes
Amazon
Local fresh food shops
Menardâs
Etsy
Rural King

HOW TO CAST A CIRCLE
This video shows how to cast a circle in the Wiccan practice. In a future video I will go over how to Lay a Compass, which is a traditional witchcraft version of creating sacred space.
What is a Magic Circle? - A magic circle is an energetic construct that you create or envision around yourself before working magic, doing a ritual, or sometimes even meditating. - For a single magic worker or solitary witch, itâs usually around 5 or 6 feet in diameter, but the size expands based on the size of a group. - Sometimes, the circle is defined by something in the physical world, such as a ring of candles or scarves, or perhaps just symbolic items at the four cardinal points.
What is the purpose of a Magic Circle? - It separates the mundane space from a sacred space. Churches/temples are already a sacred space. - It serves as a container for your personal energy as well as the energy you conjure. - It provides protection. You cast it with the intention that only positive energies may enter or dwell within. This way, when you open yourself up to the energetic realm, you need not worry about picking up any unwanted energies or currents.
How to Cast a Magic Circle? - Find a flat, somewhat open space â indoors or out â where you wonât be disturbed. - Find the four cardinal directions using a compass (there is probably one on your smart phone). OPTIONAL: Place a simple representation of each of the four elements at each corresponding point around an imagined circle. Earth/north, Air/east, Fire/south, Water/west. - Go to the center of the circle for a moment to take a couple deep breaths and calm your mind. - Turn toward East, pause and say, âI call the Guardian of East and the element of Air to watch over this sacred circle.â Then go clockwise to South for fire, West for Water, and end at North for Air. Another, simpler option is to start at the east and walk clockwise in a circle three times while you envision the creation of a circle. - When done go to the center and raise arms up and down to form your circle into a more dimensional bubble.
How to Release a Circle - When you are ready, stand up, facing East and say, âThank you, Guardian, go in peace and love.â Face the North, West, and finally South, saying the same words. - When you are back at East, point your finger or wand to the floor and slowly walk widdershins (anti-clockwise), imagining the circle dissolving and fading as you go.
Dust To Dust -Simple Samhain Ritual
Three candles
Prepare your ritual space as you see fit. Darken the room. Light a match.Â
From dust I come. Light the first candle.Â
To dust I will return. Light the second candle.
From the ash, I am made anew. Light the last candle.
Pause after each candle and consider the implications of your words deeply.
From life to death to rebirth, from summer to winter to spring, from day to night to morning. Help me accept the dark and prepare for the return of light.
Allow the flames to burn through the night if you can do so safely, or preform the ritual backwards, snuffing out the candles instead of lighting.
Laying the past to rest with dignity, honoring the present with love, calling the future to rise: Samhain Ritual 2018
This is my personal ritual Iâm going to be performing on Samhain. I invite you all to perform it yourselves if you donât have a ritual planned already! đ„đ€
Ingredients: a list of things you wish to rid yourself of within the new year, a description of yourself and current situation written with love (think of it as from the perspective of a person who loves you giving a eulogy for you), a list of things you wish to draw toward you for the new year, 3 dead leaves, 3 colorful autumn leaves, 3 green leaves picked from a tree, 1 white candle, 1 white & red candle (I have one thatâs red on top & white on bottom, this isnât very common so you can use pink as a substitute!), 1 red candle, old hair gathered from your hairbrush (optional), hair gathered from your hairbrush that day (optional), the head of a small flower, mullein leaf, St. Johnâs wort, peppermint leaf, & blessed thistle.
Directions:
This spell has 3 steps.
Step one: take your list of things to rid yourself of & read it aloud. Then fold in your old hair, dead leaves, & mullein leaf. Burn it in the flame of the white candle, and say the following incantation:
âHere we lay the past to rest
Going with peace and dignity,
Never again causing distress.
Only to be remembered wistfully.
Goodnight and goodbye.â
Step two:
Take your description of yourself aka your âeulogyâ and read it aloud. Then fold in the head of a small flower, the autumn leaves, & St. Johnâs wort. Burn it in the flame of the red & white or pink candle & say the following incantation:
âWe honor the present with love,
And cherish it for all that it is.
We forgive it for anything we are ashamed of
To accept it as this.
Goodnight for now.â
Step three:
Take your list of things you wish to draw to you and read it aloud. Then fold in the hair collected that day, the green leaves, the blessed thistle, and the peppermint. Burn it in the flame of the red candle and say the following incantation:
âI call upon the future to rise
And draw forth everything I want to see
Come back stronger from your demise
So I can become the best version of me.
See you in the morning.â
And thatâs it! I know itâs a lot, & you can adjust it to your needs. Happy casting! Remember to always be safe, cast your circle if thatâs part of your practice. Happy Samhain đđ„đ€đ
âą đŻ Honey Magick đŻ âą
Honey
Honey is a natural substance created by bees within their hives. The hive consists of primarily female bees, which will leave the hive to collect nectar from flowers and then return to transform this nectar into sugary honey for later consumption.
Humans have been collecting honey since 8000 BC, and it has been utilized by nearly every culture across the globe for food, healing, and spiritual purposes.
Honey is universally considered a talisman of prosperity, beauty, health, and sweetness, and it can be utilized in all of these types of witchcraft.
Prosperity
Honey is a representation of abundance: its primary use in nature is as a stored source of food to be used in times of hardship, both for bees and for humans. It is also created from the nectar of flowers, imbuing it with the energies of the Sun and springtime. As such, it can be added to spells for wealth, abundance, fertility, or prosperity in order to amplify the effects and create surplus in your life.
Beauty
Sympathetic Magick states that an objectâs physical qualities are reminiscent of its spiritual properties. Honey is golden, pleasing to the eye, and sweet. On its own or added to face masks, it can cleanse, nourish, and moisturize the skin. It can also be added to beauty or glamour spells in order to add a sweet glow to your energy.
Healing
Honey has been used to treat wounds since the time of the Ancient Egyptians. Its viscosity and moisture creates a moist seal around a wound. It also contains natural antibacterial properties, providing a stable and sterile environment for wounds to heal in. Metaphysically, honey can be added to protection spells or wards in order to create an environment of positivity and sterility, and can also be added to healing spells in order to strengthen the recovery process.
Sweetness
Honey is appealing to humans and animals because, above all else, it is sweet. One of honeyâs most ancient uses - utilized in magical practices ranging from Egyptian to Greek to Voudoo - is to add âsweetnessâ to a spell.
It can be added to glamour magick to make the illusion more easily accepted. It can be added to curses in order to make the energy seem harmless when entering the targetâs life. It can be added to money spells or job spells in order to âsweeten the dealâ. It can be added to love or sex spells in order to sweeten a relationship or conjure an appealing partner. In general, it can be added to any spell to make the effects more pleasant and inviting.
Offering
Honeyâs final use is especially helpful to witches who work with nature spirits, fairies, the Dead, or deities. Honey contains a very pleasing, warm, Sun-type energy, and therefore it is extremely enticing to spirits. Since the time of the Ancient Egyptians, honey has been used as an offering that symbolizes the utmost love, care, and respect.
Honey can be drizzled onto a candle and burned. It can be drizzled into a body of water or directly onto the earth. Most commonly, it can be drizzled into an offering bowl (or on top of an offering meal) and left outside, in a graveyard, or on an altar. Because it is excellent at preserving itself, offerings of honey can be left somewhere for prolonged periods of time without worry of it spoiling, which is extremely helpful to forgetful witches (like me) or witches with long-term altars.
So, all in all, honey is maybe one of the most underrated magical ingredients, and I hope this post got some of you hip to honey magick.
