An interesting truck with huge guitar & a motorcycle-orchestra - that appeared on Guitar record beating meeting/event on May 1st, 2024 in Rynek, Wroclaw, Poland.
Wroclaw, Poland - May 1st, 2024 - next Guinnes guitar record beating trial (unfortunately failed this time, contrary to 2023, when the new record was made).

Continuing the trip along Wrocław: here is the north-west part of old city. If you may go from the side of islands, across the university bridge or along Grodzka st., or if you come here from south = from the Rynek and city hall + all the attractions around there, mentioned before, you can get the plac Uniwersytecki and see the old university building, the fountain with a naked man + paid entrance to see old Aula Leopoldina (## 14, 44) or you can see very beautiful interior of near by church *here marked #27. There is also fast food restaurant => for over 60pln per kg (the price is rising after a time with inflation) you can choose from the tables whatever you want to eat. From here are many ways to go around more or to go south and slowly return to the city centre and bus or railway station.
If you came with your car or organized excursion, return to them. if you have more time, you may also choose to go a bit north behind the Odra river through University bridge or Pomorski bridges = left on the top on the map (lately renowned) along Pomorska St. to Staszica Square (also renowned) to see an old narrow railway station + train, near the church there, later to see the park and Dworzec Nadodrze (= another railway station). From here many streetcars (tramwaje, trams) & buses go in various directions, and from the railway station you can go even to Warsaw.
ALL DEPENDS ON HOW MANY DAYS OR HOW MUCH TIME YOU CAN SPEND TO SEE ALL THE ATTRACTIONS MENTIONED AND SHOWN IN THIS BLOG + THE ANOTHER ONE:

WROCŁAW, POLAND - more tips to sightseeing the city:
An alternative way to get to the city attractions from Main Railway station building (or earlier from main bus station in the basement of Wroclavia shopping mall) is to go north of KOŁŁĄTAJA ST. as shown here. You need to get between hotel PIAST & SOFIA and just start from here. After Podwale st. & fosa (the water canal seen here) the street will change to Piotra Skargi St.. Soon on the left you will have 5 star white hotel, on the right a german structure with many steps, named BASTION SAKWOWY. After few minutes of walk you will reach Galeria Dominikańska (with many stores inside and food). Attached to it is a hotel and behind the hotel is a church, free entrance, with worth to be seen chapel of blessed Wacław (happily not destroyed during WW2).
From here you can go east to see OVO white building / hotel, restaurants, etc., further you have few smaller churches, though accessible between masses on Sundays. Worth to be seen due of many artefacts inside. Behind white OVO building you may visit the museum of post. North of it you can go to ROTUNDA - with huge painting of famous polish painters, that shows battle scene: BITWA POD RACŁAWICAMI. Here on photo below is: Styki & Purkyniego St. just over Park and monument Słowackiego (a polish poet):
From here you can choose any of the lines that show the trips and go along them. Most of the attractions are named on the map. Behind of Slowacki's park is museum narodowe, mentioned in previous post, and close to it is URZĄD WOJEWÓDZKI building. Right behind is famous german bridge, now named GRUNWALDZKI, with nice views on both sides on ODRA river. See below:
Behind the bridge (most Grunwaldzki) on the left are university grounds, and on the right buildings of politechnika wrocławska (also worth to be seen if you have time). From here you can get after few hundred meters to RONDO REAGANA square and here is next shopping mall. Turning right will lead you to before mentioned ZOO, HALA STULECIA, PERGOLA. If you have time you can also see near by park (just opposite the Zoo) => on the top of high trees there, you can see nest of HERONS (czaple) wild living.
From this area you can return, as mentioned before with a tramwaj / streetcar or just go to see the cathedral and OSTRÓW TUMSKI with other attractions and later go to the cit centre via other way. See the photo below:
Very interesting may be to see all the green and red ways marked here and all the attractions along the ways. You can visit the churches shown here on map, but some could be locked, opened only on Sundays or may be on Saturdays too. Marked 39 is an orthodox church (ukrainian, etc). Near #37 is all day opened old shopping mall (HALA TARGOWA) and here you can buy good food, fruits, drink, flowers, souvenirs, make xero, etc. From here you can choose to take a boat trip along Odra river (prices about 50 pln per person or so, depending on the boat) or go west on islands to see the views from here. They are marked on the map as WYSPA (and the name) on the left side of the photo.
TIPS TO SIGHTSEEING /WALKING ALONG THE STREETS OF WROCŁAW (because somebody asked me).
- if you come to Wrocław by bus or a train (see the map above), go north to H. Kołłątaja street or better to J. Piłsudskiego st. like the red lines show, on the right you will see NOT building with nice portal & sculptures, inside nothing special to see. Unless you want see first Sky Tower (then go in the Sun direction = south-west). On foot from the bus station or main railway station is about 2 km to Sky Tower, depending which way you go).
While on J. Piłsudskiego st. and you go west, reach Świdnicka st. (see famous sculpture with many people going underground and out and of it) from here turn north along Świdnicka street. See the map below (here the lines of sightseeing are to choose from, so you can go as you wish). Look for such maps, like this one, from which I took the pictures. Here are marked old churches or buildings, you may be interested to see. Generally everywhere in the old city centre is close to each other and look for signs, that will show you how far is to next buildings worth to be seen..
Behind the water (= fosa miejska) you see here, was old city, so here are many buildings and things to see. Special feature for kids is hunting for small figurines of dwarfs/gnomes (named here krasnale). Once you were on main railway station (beside the tunnel) there was an information point with free maps & booklets for tourists. But if you get to Rynek (the place around old city hall) there are at least 3 stores with tourist information & souvenirs +free or paid maps, also with the places where to find the KRASNALE. Though forget about that, you will find all of about 400 of them during one day, just enough to spot few dozens. They could be as low as the sidewalk level, and sometimes on lamps or as high as 2-3 meters above the ground. Sometimes they are inside of buildings or behind windows. As a souvenir you can buy many figurines of various size of the gnomes, see the photo below:
Or at least many kinds of magnets for the fridge with the gnomes or other views. If you want to see more and your time in Wroclaw is short, but you have some money to spent, you may choose to hire electric taxi (car) trip, with prerecorded voice or with information from the driver. They usually stand on SOLNY SQUARE (south-west part of Rynek) = see photo below, or just north of it, in north-west corner of Rynek = near St. Elizabeth basilica (with lately restored / rebuild huge music organs /Orgel).
These small cars will take you for the trip around the worth to be seen points of Wroclaw, including: ROTUNDA and near by Museum Narodowe with periodically various expositions, later to Ostrów Tumski and the cathedral, and as far as HALA STULECIA = THE CENTENNIAL HALL, Pergola and ZOO. Behind Pergola is Japanese garden, Szczytnicki park and not so far in the park a wooden church.
Though, the prices are negotiable, the more people, probably the lower the price per person. If you have more time, you can go there on your feet or take a streetcar (TRAMWAJ) # 2,10,17, etc. - depending on where you are. Basically they are on Świdnicka/ Kazimierza Wielkiego crossing or near Galeria Dominikańska shopping mall.
