The fan fiction culture of "no criticism allowed ever ever ever!" has seeped into fandom culture in general, to the point that anyone who analyzes media is dismissed as pretentious and annoying and I'd just like to say: it sucks
Yes to be mean and yes all offense meant but I just don't see the point in uncritically liking things like...where's the fun in that? How can you watch or read something and refuse to engage with any kind of analysis or critique? Do you not even have a thought like "oh I liked that line!" or "this would've worked better"? Is that pretentious to you clowns, too? Because that is analysis! Analysis =/= hating on a piece, and the fact that people think those are one and the same is ridiculous.
