Beautiful song by man in the transistor
Just like Royce, many lines of dialogue from one of the major characters, the Man in the Transistor, were cut before they released the final game! There are a lot of them, but I’m fond of these lines especially because they just show off the ~CREATIVITY~ that the sword man had when naming some of the Process.
In the continuing saga of “adventures with deleted Transistor lines that never made it into the final game”, I discover that Transistor was going to be a game where you fight giant eyeballs for some reason.
No, really.
for that matter
Transistor Mix: In Circles (Voiced and Voiceless)
Sounds best with headphones! This is the “hummed” version of In Circles mixed with the normal one, hence the name.
Enjoy!
from transistor: breached since the update to the transistor soundtrack still doesn’t have hummed versions of either the spine or in circles/_n c_rcl_s

You find yourself growing increasingly fatigued as you wander through the wilderness. Even in proper health, being out in the cold with nothing but a school uniform weren’t the best circumstances. However, with your mind continued to be clouded with mismatched fragments of memories, you can’t seem to be able to dwell on how cold you are. >… ! Nor are you able to notice the pack of wolves(?) until they had already surrounded you, muzzles curled into a snarl as they pace around you. There doesn’t seem to be a way around this without fighting back. But you don’t have a weapon. Except… You find yourself reaching to your belt, pulling your evoker from its holster. A weapon only usable during… When? A different time. Different from here. Yet you still find yourself raising the gun-like object as if its the most natural thing in the world. And when you feel the cool metal pressed against your temple, for the first time, you feel a sharp clarity. Something to tie you down. Pulling the trigger is only natural. "Orpheus!" It’s… Different. All of the facets that brought everything together were gone, but the mechanic lyricist still emerged regardless, a small burst of fire shooting from the strum of his harp. The nearest animal lets out a startled yelp as it jerks back from the fire, but it does little to deter the pack as the magic dissipates. While normal wolves would likely be compelled to flee from fire, something else seems to drive these creatures entirely. You take a step back, trying to regain your bearings for another summon, a task that shouldn’t be this difficult. And there is little you can do without a weapon to keep them at bay in the meantime.
"Perso-" But your opponent is faster, successfully knocking you to the ground, and your evoker out of your grip, leaving only your limbs for a barrier between you and snapping jaws. The sharp pain in your left leg demonstrates how ineffective a barrier that actually is. The thunk of something nearby distracts your attackers from making a chew toy from your legs. You guess this is a good thing. You hear a voice coming from the same direction, bidding you to turn your head towards… A sword? You could think of a good handful of reasons of why a sword is talking to you, but you don’t really care. Besides, whatever it is, its offering its assistance. You guess that’s an even better thing. Ignoring the sharp pain in your leg, you force yourself to your feet, gripping the weapon’s hilt with both hands. >… Heavy. But all you have to do is run, so you might as well. Or the closest thing you can manage in your state. You hardly blink when the world freezes around you. The stagnant silence actually brings a strange sense of familiarity. You’re more concerned with getting away as much as you can. So you run, leaving behind your evoker on the ground. >…! 'I'd forgotten. You had his for safekeeping.'
You’re not sure what that was, a memory, vision or what. But it’s enough to cause you to jerk your head back at the last possible second towards your forgotten weapon.
Everything looked like it was going fine. The kid looked startled but who could blame him? Getting your legs bitten at by wolves and then, being talked to by a giant hunk of fiberglass tended to do that. Still. He was moving and pretty well though. From the trick he pulled earlier, I knew he wasn’t helpless either. Just caught off guard and outnumbered. But at some point he stopped. I could sort of see what he was looking at but it was small and, far enough away to be a little blurry.
─[ Hey. I don’t know what you’re thinking.]╢ ─[ But is that thing really worth dying over?]╢ ─[ Can’t really answer that for you.]╢ ─[ But if it is try to get get as much distance from them as you can.]╢ ─[ Maybe you can hit those vultures from back here with your harp guy.]╢ ─[ By the time they get here you should be able to stop everything again.]╢ ─[ Just grab it and run.]╢ I couldn’t tell what was going through the kid’s head, but the least I could do was offer some perspective. Help him choose his moves carefully. Instead of making that leg worse. I just didn't want to see him die over it. He didn't even look like he was over sixteen. Way too young to die in a field somewhere.

═╣Dreary Eyed Kid ╞═ Closed
I was getting used to sitting around in weird places. Could really only make myself hover so far and if I’m being honest, I wasn’t that good at it. Out of all the places I’d ended up, I guess fields were pretty all right. Occasionally people would pass by. Some of them were even nice enough to give me a lift. I could tell a lot of people weren’t from this world, wherever it was. Some of the people who were seemed a little put off by me, not that I could blame them. I just talked to the people who looked like they weren’t. That tended to get better results. The day I met the dreary eyed looking kid I’d been stuck in a field. I was pretty much at my limit so far as floating was concerned. Luckily I’d fallen onto my side, otherwise I might not have seen him. He had been surrounded by a bunch of doglike things. Not really like a dog, more of a wolf actually. One of them knocked him down and the others started snapping at his legs. Damn vultures. ─[ Hey! Leave him alone! ]╢ ─[ I said back off! ]╢ That distracted one of them. I don’t think the kid heard me though. He must have been too far away. I thought maybe if I could just get over there he’d have a chance… Giving it everything I had, I flung myself across the ground. {╞══════════════════[ FORCE ( ) ]══════════════════╣} By some act of God, I managed to land right by his leg. Good. ─[ Hey. Don’t freak out. I think I’ve got a way to get us out of this. ]╢ ─[ Don’t even bother trying to hit them.]╢ ─[ Just grab on and run! ]╢ {╞══════════════[ TURN INITIATED ( ) ]══════════════╣} Just like usual, the world froze and gave us a second chance. Kid looked like he needed it.
─[ You alright? Hey.]╢ ─[ If you can, try to run away from these guys.]╢ ─[ Go in a straight line and you’ll get farther. ]╢ ─[ Whatever you do, don’t let me go.]╢
