“hey, i thought of you again today. i really have to stop doing that. you see, i keep telling myself that maybe if i don’t say your name, or bring you up to my friends, or look at pictures of you, you’ll disappear. we both know that’s not possible. but hey, i’m really happy you’ve moved on. its more than i can say for myself. maybe i’ll get there someday. maybe i’ll call you then.”
— a voicemail I wish I had the guts to leave
i don’t even remember who this was about. it gets better.
When I was little, I used to imagine what I was going to be like, and what life was going to be like when I was a big kid. I imagined the boy I’d fall in love with, hopelessly and for forever. I imagined that I’d finally love myself, and that I’d finally be okay with who I was. I imagined the first time I’d bear my heart to someone, and tell them without qualms that I loved them with everything I am. I imagined them saying it back. I imagined the roses on my door step, and the kisses planted on my cheek, blossoming into I love yous and I’ll never let you gos. How did everything get so fucked up?
I wish I knew as a little kid that dreams were nothing but illusions I believed too deeply in. (via withshatteredhappiness)
years later and i’m reading all of these over. i wish my heart wasn’t so jaded back then. my love, i promise it comes. the hurt is worth it.
you have made so much more progress than you realize. you will get past these bumps in the road, the bad days, the heartbreaks, and find you are stronger than you were before.
“I still feel hurt. My heart still aches whenever I read our messages or hear about you or see you. Yet I don’t feel like talking at all. I used to feel suffocated because nobody wanted to listen to me talk about you. But now it’s like the sadness is there alright, but I feel so powerless to try to get rid of it. There’s nothing left for me to say. I want to cry, but the tears don’t come. It’s as if the empty space you’ve left behind can only be filled now, not broken down any further.”
— Excerpt from a book I’ll never write
“It just feels like I’m suffocating sometimes. My emotions overwhelm me so much and I am just trampled with sadness/anxiety. And I don’t want to be that way. I don’t want to be anxiety ridden over going in a store or being in a group of people. I don’t want to be sad all the time and sometimes I don’t even know why. I just want to feel things like a normal person. I don’t want to be such a mess all the time.”
— Chapters from my life
“But the saddest part is knowing that we could have been something great.”
— You’re the one that got away ( @xarenisoto )
You taught me a lot over the years. Mostly that its okay to be alone, but also that soulmates are different for everyone. Sometimes its love, sometimes its friendship. Sometimes, its both. Regardless, your soulmate is the person who gives you absolute peace when the world around you is falling apart.

“You’ll never be able to find yourself if you’re lost in someone else.”
— Colleen Hoover
I wish I could still kiss you on the forehead and tell you everything will be okay. I wish I could still have you every night just to talk about everything you want. I always wish upon distant stars for your you and your touch. Everything was going our way. We were happy with each other, but when I blinked, everything just fell apart. Just like that.
I wish I could have said more, but words are lost today. If only I can turn back the time, I will do it, whatever it takes.
I’m scared to move on because moving on means accepting our fate as strangers and I’d rather be heartbroken than forget you.

Hey, I still exist.
seems as if you’ve forgotten that. // excerpt from a story I’ll never write #34 (via withshatteredhappiness)
i genuinely don't know what to write anymore because every time i put my pen to a piece of paper i feel like a failure.
i’m sorry i let you down.
“You know that feeling you get when you know you’re seeing a place for the last time? Like when you’re moving from your childhood house or roaming your high school’s hallway for the last time, you take extra time to memorize the details and feeling of that area. I wish I would have known that night would have been my last with you. Maybe I would have held you a little bit tighter and kissed you a little bit longer. Maybe I could have looked long enough into your eyes for you to feel a sting in your chest for lying to me so long. I wonder, did you pay extra attention when you touched me that night? Knowing that it’d be the last time, did you memorize that moment?”
