Knights & Lambs Prologue

The twilight moon was shining down, its rays of light looking like a beacon of hope. But…. At the same time, there was a weight upon my shoulders. Was this right? Was it wrong? I guess even great rulers have these thoughts racing in their minds in these times of struggle. The sounds of footsteps outside the room interrupted the thought process. Looking over as the door slowly opens, a familiar face beholds itself. 

“Heket….” My vision was blurred with tears before wiping them away, sister was finally here. “Shamura” she said. “We had better get this over with before he ruins the party.” If Heket were to notice, she would see a soul slowly breaking down from guilt. But now was not the time for that. We all had to act fast. Gathering all the strength possible, I stand proudly and follow my beloved sister towards the dungeon halls, hoping that all of this will be finally resolved. 

The dungeons…. Crowns, wish we didn’t need these. So many horrid souls here, trapped behind bars. As we both approach the one cell, a feeling of dread creeps up on me. A being I had basically raised as my own, once a bright and shining star, had faded with time. Both Heket and myself stop in front of the cell, being greeted by a pair of piercing red eyes, a cold reminder of what we were both facing, and what horrors soon awaited.
