Welcome to the cult of the lamb confession blog!!

This blog is open to everyone of all thoughts and opinions related to cult of the lamb! Everyone who wants to share any opinions they have no matter how unpopular they may be will be treated equally!!

However, we are going to set some ground rules surrounding the confessions and subsequent confessioners:

1: ALL confessions will be treated with respect. If you do not like a confession, keep scrolling. Any insults directed towards other confessioners will be deleted.

2: any confessions related to anything not safe for Tumblr (nsfw, violence, etc) will be posted with a tw or cw

3: Any hate directed towards Massive Monster/the cotl devs will be deleted. You can gripe about the game, but hate towards the devs will not be tolerated.

4: Anything too vague/indetailed to tell if it's breaking a rule will be posted with a "?" to ask for more context.

5: new rules can be added at any time under mod discretion and a post will be made if it happens

6: No hating/criticising individual fan creators by name

6.5: No hating on "trends" that only one or two creators are a part of. If it's something that a LARGE percentage of the fandom is participating in, that's fine, but if it's a SMALL percentage of the fandom then that's a no-go.

7: Just don't be mean for no reason.

8: Have fun!!!

Arguing with this community over the game's story is legitimately infuriating.

Whenever someone points out a weird writing choice, plot hole, retcon, etc (the Woolhaven disciples getting away with everything, the Bishops' relics questline feeling bare-bones and rushed, the Narinder pandering, etc), most, if not all, of the defenses I've seen for the story can be summed up as:

"This is actually good writing because [INSERT HEADCANON HERE]"

I know this game relies heavily on player interpretation/headcanon already (to a frustrating degree, if you ask me), but you shouldn't need to make up a billion headcanons just to make the writing decisions make sense.

not speaking on the post itself because I don't have the time or energy to get into it, but just about the whole situation in general I am... very close to gutting the blog of that whole Woolhaven debate. It got out of hand very quickly and at the time I didn't know what to do except sit back and let it happen because that's the nature of the booth, it's here for unpopular opinions, but it nose-dived very quickly into infighting and I really don't want that to be the face of the blog

after re-reading the full post + doc I've decided I am going to take down all of the posts related to the arguments around Woolhaven and the lambs' colonizer status (I made this original post right before work so I didn't have time to go through all of the information at the time)

I sincerely apologize to everyone that may have felt hurt or repressed by any of the confessions, like I said previously I was too lenient on what got posted because I only had one half of a story. I'm not going to claim to take sides, I am simply going to take it all down.

That being said, I may take time away from Tumblr and this blog especially in the upcoming couple of weeks. I have about a week's worth of confessions in the queue, so we will see after that if I continue to post.

Like I said, I formally and sincerely apologize to everyone that my carelessness may have harmed, I do not condone racism in any way and I am sorry if my actions thus far have spoken otherwise.

I appreciate those that choose to continue to follow the blog despite these circumstances

Rakshasa did nothing wrong and I'm tired of seeing people act like he deserves to be traumatized for raising seed prices in the post-game. An entity beyond mortal comprehension is now just hanging out around his shop, is it really all that "unreasonable" for him to raise his prices to justify staying there? Oh no, berries seeds cost TWO coins instead of one now, we're all gonna die I guess! (I tried double checking what the prices were but that's not on the wiki for some reason and I can't play the game today to check, my point is still that the seeds are pretty cheap).

Do people not know you can get free seeds from crusades or that some dishes just use types of meat? I probably wouldn't mind as much if people hated Helob as much, but nobody is complaining about how the cannibalistic trafficker is charging 100 coins per (young, healthy) follower in the post-game.

Anyways I also think him, his giant snail wife, and Forneus should play bingo sometime (not with Plimbo, I know he would try cheating at it)

lately i’ve learned about transfem leshy and it’s been honestly making me pretty happy as a leshy fan (i already headcanon them to be trans) and as a trans person more trans hcs for the characters i enjoy just makes me happy

People are too hard on Sariel. If I bagged a giant ethereal winter goddess and she got killed over someone else’s family drama, I would become the Joker. Incredibly understandable crash out.

This fandom ended up not being as welcoming as I had hoped. Before I started posting on any account, I saw how close the fandom seemed and wanted to be part of that. I thought there would be a strong sense of community. I’ve been posting on another platform for over a year now, and nothing has worked. I tried over and over again to reach out, but nobody seemed to care. I’ve stopped trying because of how uncomfortable doing that made me feel and how that discomfort was all I ever got from it. 

I’ve tried being open and friendly on here (been posting for several months), but it’s largely been the same issue. I have made one friend after they reached out to me, and I’m incredibly grateful for them, but I still feel like an outsider looking in.

Am I doing something wrong? Am I not making the “right” content? Did I not meet some popularity requirement I didn’t know about? Did I take too long to start posting? I can’t help but feel like it must be my fault since people who joined the fandom more recently than myself seemed to be so readily accepted.

I beg the fandom to please tag your ship stuff properly. I have blocked 28 tags just to avoid two ships (won't be naming them) and I still see at least one of them untagged per day. This has been happening for several months now. Tagging is free, you don't have to pay a dime to tag your ship.

For a more positive reason: people who are actively looking for content on certain ships won't see your stuff if you don't tag it as such.

Personally I believe Cult of the Lamb isn't a game where you "choose" who's the "least problematic" or "has less war crimes".

It's a game where you choose which problematic thing you hate the most and you hate characters that did that thing.

Don't excuse other characters, they've all done something bad, just choose who made the worst mistakes according to your personal compass.

I, personally, hate traitors, so any traitorous character is hated by me. Does that mean the others are better? Absolutely not, but it's not a game with a traditionally good side, so no one's really worth defending or excusing.
