Hey! I had a witty profile back in about 2000 it feels like and I went to look at it recently …let’s just say I’m embarrassed and a coworker brought it to my attention…🤣 how can get into this account. Forgot the email I used..but would like the profile removed :/

Hi Steve, just like everyone else I am a fan of Witty Profiles and have been since I was in grade school years ago. I wanted to ask do you ever wish Witty Profiles was big or once engaged as it was years ago. With the way memes and tweets are popular I do not see why Witty Profiles is not apart of the conversation. Have you tried to market it on social media? I am not trying to get in you business I just want to help the site I once loved.

I do wish Witty Profiles had maintained its popularity. I think Witty was ahead of its time in some ways. The pretty, HTML formatted quotes with image backgrounds were indeed like an early meme format and the site had its own culture, sayings, and etiquette. I think I could have played up the meme angle to keep the site going, but life got in the way.

At its peak about 10 years ago, Witty had about 50,000 daily active users. Not a huge number by today's standards, but for a site run by one guy (me) in his spare time, it was a pretty big deal. To this day I still get messages from old users telling me how their lives are going, how Witty had an influence on them, and how some are still in touch with friends they made on the site. Those stories always blow my mind.

I think the Witty Profiles facebook page still has about 29,000 followers (down from about 40,000). I haven't posted there in years. The trouble now is that all the kids who followed the page 10-11 years ago are no longer kids. I don't know what they would care about in 2021.

Hi Steve, my username was xoalicecullenxo and I was on Witty from 2009-2012. I just wanted to thank you for creating Witty - I joined it in a dark time in my life (when I was depressed, being bullied, not sure if I wanted to be alive), and it ended up saving me. I met the most amazing friends on there and we still talk and hangout an entire decade later. I'm now 23, living in Florida, happy, and have a degree and career. I would not be the person I am today if it were not for Witty. Thank you!!!

How do you recover your old witty profile if the email address associated with it no longer exists or you no longer have access to?

Hello Steve, I was and still am a huge fan of Witty Profiles! With your permission could I start a fan page about Witty Profiles on Instagram reposting old quote while giving credit to the creator by putting their username? I have looked and some people have done so before but I thought I just might ask. Thank you.

Hi Steve! I loved Wittyprofiles when I was younger. I'm a web developer now, and I'm pretty sure I have to thank you for that, because Witty was my first contact with HTML! Anyways, I have a question: Do you have a Github profile? Or anything else where I can see what other stuff you created? :) - Petra

There's been enough activity on WittyProfiles.com lately that a couple of quotes were automatically posted to Twitter. That hasn't happened for over a year!

Your CAPTCHA does not work so I cannot join

Good news! The captcha on the “join” page has been fixed. Sadly I have no idea how long this was broken. I moved Witty Profiles to a new server this month and realized it was broken during testing after the migration. I hope this wasn’t broken for years, but it looks like it may have been. Makes me feel like I’ve been walking around with my fly down since The Last Jedi came out. :(

just search for their name and search results will show up along with quotes with their name in them.

HI, im a really old user of Witty. I remember my username only, but i cannot remember the email i had associated with my profile. The two main emails i have and only ever remember using for anything do not receive password resets. its kind of upsetting.
