I miss seeing beautiful, large beetles in my garden. The magpie's feeding habits fuel a suspicion as to why that is the case.

Guess whose gonna be looking cool as fuck at this weekends ren fair ? That’s right it’s me, my partner, and TipToe the rat
What's up, you cute little loaf?
I made an European hoopoe out of dried flowers and I can't tell if it looks goofy or if I'm just not used to making entirely out of dried flowers
This winter I made some bees and those looked fine to me
I just spotted my #1 milf (moth I’d like to find) in a trashcan full of literal raccoon shit. This is the bad-wing, and I’ve been trying to find one for years. The bad-wing is so named because the top part of it’s wing is much longer than the bottom part, which makes it hard for people to spread open and pin them down on a cork board.
How odd to be a beautiful, green little moth so-named after the fact that it is hard for an old German man to spread open and pose your dead body.
crochet colorwork ive done lately

Windy, somewhat grey weather is Great Crested Grebe weather!
Today, I caught one of the local ones giving a really big stretch and showing off their lobed feet, and having a good preen. I'm not sure which one this is, but I can tell you that they seem to be here all the year round.
After 9 months of work, my Oseberg tapestry sweater is complete!
This was my first sweater knitted in the round, first stranded colourwork project, and my first time steeking. It was definitely my most challenging project so far, and a lot of learning and research was involved. I used a colourwork chart created by the very talented Molly Gifford, which is available for free on Ravelry
For reference, this is one of the fragments uncovered from the gravesite:
Some scholars think that the Oseberg tapestry includes the earliest known artistic depiction of Odin's ravens, Huginn and Muninn. So I added them to the sleeves as a little Easter egg.
