I just really enjoyed Twilight as a character before her major development as an alicorn. I find her much more entertaining to portray before her princesshood or major character development, if that makes it any more clear.

twilight was absolutely terrified to see this specific alicorn. a loud gasp escaped her lips and her eyes widened as she backed away a bit from the much taller pony. of course, she was never expecting to see or speak with the villain since

“N... Nightmare Moon?! Is it really- Is it- Oh no, oh no, oh no,” she would mutter to herself, before finally becoming audible, “How did you... I thought you were gone!”
