Hello! ^_^ My name is Sebastian/Seb, he/it/pup. I'm a revert to Islam. I wanted a blog dedicated to my journey and to meet new people and connect with my community. It's a bit isolating not knowing any fellow muslims in real life.

Some info about me! I'm a hijabi (working on going full time inshallah but I'm still struggling at the moment </3) and soon to be niqabi. I'm 18, I'm a trans male, queer, therian/nonhuman, and I am a DID system :3. I reverted to Islam in 2021.

I will post or reblog content from fellow muslims, or vent about my person struggles and experiences with reverting. I'll update this post when I have a tagging system down, but for now things are a little chaotic ^^;.

oh! ive been meaning to ask about it for a while now, does anyone have tips on praying with a lower spinal fracture? its in my lumbar area so the usual prayer positions hurt my back significantly. i know i can pray sitting, but ive never understood exactly how that works? like do i sit on my knees or? some elaboration would be nice. or any other advice like stretches i can try etc etc. thanks in advance~!

my mom asked me an interesting question yesterday, and id like to pose it here:

is following the concept/belief in karma sacrilegious because it comes from a different religion?

Not exactly!

In its original Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain contexts, karma means “action” and the idea is that your intentions and deeds have natural consequences that shape your future experiences (in this life or another). It’s a moral and spiritual cause-and-effect, not necessarily divine punishment or reward because it's not caused by any deity, rather just the way the universe works.

Karma is actually existent in other religions too. It's just the idea that your actions have consequences, which is reflected in the Bible as well:

“A man reaps what he sows.” — Galatians 6:7 “With the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” — Matthew 7:2

As far as Islam goes, the same thing is talked about in the Qur'an in numerous verses but since I quoted two from the Bible, I'll quote two from the Qur'an:

“So whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it, And whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.” — Surah Az-Zalzalah (99:7-8) “Whoever comes [on the Day of Judgment] with a good deed will have ten times the like thereof [to his credit], and whoever comes with an evil deed will not be recompensed except the like thereof; and they will not be wronged.” — Surah Al-An'am (6:160)

So karma is more of a name for the idea, rather than where the idea originates. The idea itself is present in several religions.

i got a three layered niqab and having my eyes obscured to an outside observer feels so... safe and secure. i feel a deeper connection to my faith when i wear it.

i love being a trans man who covers and i think i realized why. id feel exposed and unsafe if i dressed by men's modesty standards. i feel called to the hijab, the niqab, quite possibly a burqa one day.

im scared as i further my transition i will no longer be welcome in women's spaces, but due to how i present i wouldn't be welcome in men's spaces either. but i try to cover in spite of this fear, and i continue to live my life as Allah has intended for me.

I've been struggling with my faith recently. I think it started because I was unable to fast during Ramadan this year (I have anorexia and am in a treatment program for EDs). I feel like my connection with Allah is gone. I want it back.

I follow a few Muslims on here, and seeing their posts about Islam fill me with hope but also so much anguish.

Does anyone have any tips for reconnecting with one's faith?

finally went to masjid. it made me feel a lot better, but i think it further scrambled my gender identity vs presentation and the spaces i inhabit.

im a very feminine presenting trans man. this has never brought me dysphoria, i love being feminine as a man. but part of that is because my girlhood was ripped away via trauma at a very very young age. so it's nice to reconnect.

that also means, naturally, ive fallen more into women's spaces. even while being on t. it's comforting, and i am deathly afraid to lose that connection to other women. i feel like im lying, even when im open about being trans. specifically with Islam, though, i don't know where i fit. i wouldn't be grouped with the men, but im soon going to be too masculine to group with women. im just scared i don't fit in anywhere.

i don't have any specific questions, just want some advice. my mom suggested speaking to the imam about it & pray on it. but does anyone else have advice on what i can do?

i don't want to get married, i think. it's something ive wanted since i was little, but now that i have someone i wanna spend my life with, i can't bear the thought of it being anyone else. not to mention, if they reciprocated, would out marriage even be accepted? i trust in Allah to guide me down the right path, and i trust that he has a plan for me, im just nervous. im overwhelmed and upset for several reasons, but i know things will get better if I see it trough. just wish i could see it.
