i like to imagine that, no matter how much attention lan wangji pays to other people (in a platonic sense), wei wuxian never gets jealous or upset; instead, wei wuxian is just happy that more people are realizing that his husband's actually a great person. thus, lan wangji concludes that wei wuxian is not the type to get jealous.
i ALSO like to imagine that, postcanon, if wen ning were to start receiving fierce corpse maintenance from another demonic cultivator, then wei wuxian would get Weird about it immediately. this remains true even if the moral stalwartness and trustworthiness of the other demonic cultivator's character is proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. in fact, if the other demonic cultivator is proven to have zero bad intentions, then wei wuxian gets even Weirder about the whole situation.
i like to imagine that both of these things are true, simultaneously.
I also like to imagine that WWX is in deep denial to the existence second in command of the jiang sect. LWJ didnt notice at first bc he didn’t care for the jiang sect and its awful leader and its ride disciples and WWX does not bother to remember most people’s name. But WWX would still try and make nice with the yunmeng jiang disciples, because he is good like that (it’s out of nolstalgia), but he still won’t answer the SIC and won’t look at him and will act as if they are not there. When pressed, WWX seem unaware of the SIC existence or the possibility of that role being served in the jiang sect. At first wangji didn’t care about it, what does he care for the goings and comings of the jiang sect? But now the knowledge won’t get out his head, like a small stone in his shoe that just won’t come of and it is dull and insignificant and yet wangji is out of his head in annoyance because-
Wei wuxian is not a jealous person, LWJ knows this. He has tested this many times. Yet, WWX cannot seem to stand to see anywhere near Jc in the position he was supposed to fill, in their golden childhood. In fact, WWX is weird about Jc in what he will insult and let him be insulted and only laugh but the moment the man gets close to anyone but Jin rulan Wei wuxian enters a weird highly illogical head space and always tries and discredit that person with a ‘of course a personality like jiang wanyin attracts such crooked characters!’ Which is of course right but wangji can’t help but notice that the crookedness of these characters is, in fact, not morally correct but also not morally abhorrent. They tend to be…mediocre, in their acts of evil. Like being mean to a maiden, or being secretly illegitimate, or having a family secret, or a secret affair. Of course Wei wuxian was righteous to uncover these transgressions but they are also the transgressions wangji has seen him laugh it off. So why when it comes to jiang wanyin Wei wuxian cannot tolerate-
