A very wise and wonderful friend pointed out that my superpower is making people feel uncomfortable. I am not afraid to bring up controversial topics or go against the social norm. I blame my mother. She made me a strong, vocal woman who "tries" not to take crap from anyone. I say tries, because some days I have terribly low self-esteem and my self-talk is more destructive than anyone else's barbs and jabs. I try to have thick skin and not take things personally, because, let's face it...people have bad days, even your closest friends and family. But sometimes, something will sneak in and it buries deep and festers. That happen the other day...when a close friend made the sarcastic comment to me that "it was about time something didn't go my way (referring to my miscarriages) because my life is so perfect." Well, I'm here to tell you all, in case anyone else felt this way...you're absolutely wrong...and insane...and a rude jerk, and I hope no one ever judges you the same way you've judged me. It's time to STOP tearing down other women. So I implore each and every one of you...men included...to tell a woman today (even better if its someone you don't know) that they are beautiful and worth it.
