-Hearing that got Shadow to wilt. His ears folded down, tail lowered, and for a while he couldn't look at the blue hero. Memories played in his mind, and his torso burned as his body suddenly felt heavy. Knowing what his alternate had done did more than make his guilt and regret for his own actions become more intense, it made him question himself. Question whether or not he could be trusted. Like Sonic, he was simply silent for what was likely an awkward amount of time, before speaking quietly. He may as well come clean about certain things.-
I must admit, hedgehog...I did my share of harm before I began to...see the light? Is that the expression? Anyway...
Not that this excuses his, or my, actions, but...can you imagine having no memories, except for one awful, awful one...and then chaos literally rains down onto the world you know nothing about, and one person, one...gives you a glimmer of hope to ever figuring things out?
-Shadow was indeed, at least somewhat, making a reference to how Sonic had not helped him when they met in the mist of the chaos, but he wasn't focusing on that. He wasn't going to blame Sonic for what he'd done himself.-
Everything was happening so fast, so many people began to shout in my ears, and then GUN...they shot at me. In my case, I only aimed to disable them, but I didn't stick around to make sure that's all that happened.
-The dark hedgehog allowed himself a small sigh. He still couldn't quite get himself to look at the Sonic alternate.-
Like I said, it's not an excuse, nothing can excuse it...ever. I just hope you can understand my regret.
If I can ask...since you said your world's Shadow sided with them. What happened? Did he...ever come around?
