Following @titenoute’s suggestion to make an offering in order to alleviate my current string of bad luck, I set out to do just that. Unfortunately, since 99% of my stuff is stuck back in my freezing apartment, I’ll have to make due with whatever I can find around here.

I offer: - the helm of an ancient furry - cloudy mead that otherwise tastes pretty nice - beejuice - stick of scents - an idol of Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos arranged within a stone semi-cirle

Heating's been dead for a few days now, resulting in about 16 Celsius indoors, and landlord managed to get into touch with the repair people.

What the fuck. Can’t the landlord pay you an portable electric heater ? Either they cuts 50 bucks on the next month’s rent so you can afford it or they pays it themselves. If you think ‘yeah but can I ask this ?’, don’t forget : if the place you rent has there is a heating system in, your rent count that too. And it doesn’t hurt to ask. That they can’t deal with your problem immediately is understandable, but it doesn’t mean there isn’t other options so you don’t freeze in the meantime.

I think your vibes were strong enough to affect my landlord, because he was just here with that proposition! Unfortunately my experience with portable heaters has been pretty bad overall, but we did end up cutting a deal.

I managed to arrange moving back with my essentials to a friend about 15 minutes away, with whom I lived with over the past year or so, until the repairs are done. At the same time, lardlord agreed that I’ll get 50% cut from October’s rent.

Overall, not ideal, but considering I’m out of the freezer and can slowly feel my fingers again, I guess the crisis has been averted, for now. Then again, 25 minutes into this new sanctuary, a lightbulb in the main room went out, so at this point I wonder if I just pissed off some resident deity or whatnot.
