Introduction - New Days (?)
The detective slowly opens his eyes as he let out a long yawn.
Almost through instinct heâd immediately sit up just about ready to start his usual morning routine: folding his futon, heading to the kitchen to start up a nice morning brew and leave to take a nice warm shower before heading to work. However, something was completely off this morning..Â
His surroundings were.. completely different? This didnât look like the Dojima residency at all, instead he was met with what seemed to a room in a fancy Alpine ski resort. He clearly had to be in the mountains because just outside the windows of this room was a land blanketed in beautiful, white snow. None of this made any damn sense, wasnât it still summer?!Â
Where... am I?
Just what the hell is going on here?!
Suddenly, during the shock of taking everything in, a few things came back to him. Dojima couldnât completely remember what happened, but he remembered something taking place in a strange blue room and him being urged to sign a contract...
Something about those.. persona things?Â
At that instance, Dojima put his hand over his forehead and let out a loud audible sigh. This all had to be some dream, he never actually experienced any lucid dreams before so this was all completely new to him.Â
"I didnât drink too much last night, did I? Iâve.. never had a dream feel this realistic before.â
If this was all some dream, he had some degree of control of the dream right? Thatâd probably explain the fancy alpine resort, now that he thought about it, he hasnât been on an actual vacation in years. As he continued to think on everything, he did remember how Nanako was talking to him about one of her friends going to the mountains for skiing.Â
This was all so strange, just how long do these dreams last for anyways? He honestly just wanted all this to end so he could get up and finish overviewing those case files at his office.Â
As Dojima was lost in his thoughts, light knocking was heard on his door as well as a voice that seemed to be calling his name.
âMr. Dojima, sir! Youâre needed immediately!âÂ
Curious to see who exactly who this was, he goes to the door and opens it, revealing some strange looking... moth-like creature with long wings.. in a suit? Just how much and what did he drink last night? Did he hit his head when he passed out?Â
Whatever was the case, things just on getting weirder and weirder, hesitantly he addresses this.. mothman and asks what he was needed for.
"... Yeah? What is it?â
"Sir, youâre needed outside immediately! Itâs urgent business, come now and follow me!â
Looks like even in his dreams he wasnât allowed to have a break, based on how urgent this guy was sounding, there was an emergency.Â
Dojima wasnât sure how to respond, this was his dream, right? Couldnât he just do what he wanted? All of this was so damn weird, but he figured he might as well follow this thing, whatâs the worst that could happen?
âRight.... Iâll be right behind you, lets move.â
The detective and the moth butler both exited the room
The more Dojima saw the more convinced he was that this was all a dream: after all seeing angels, zombies, demons and tiny cereal mascots walking around wasnât exactly something he was used to.
As they made their way through the hallways of the resort, he got a good look at what his mindscape came up with and boy did it look fancy, the lounge alone looked like it was worth more than their house. Thank god this was a dream, he couldnât imagine what fortune it would cost to legitimately stay in one of these places. The mountains and the scenery outside sure was something though, maybe he should take Nanako to the mountains sometime and they both can learn to ski, it couldnât be that hard right?Â
Once they both went outside Dojima was immediately met with a chill that went up his spine, looks like this winter dream weather was realistic too.
The creature and him eventually stopped at what appeared to be a huge gaping hole in the ground. Dojima looked over the edge and squinted his eyes, this hole looked deep and incredibly dangerous, hopefully nobody fell inside, with how deep it looked he doubt anybody could survive a fall from in there.Â
"This hole really is something... nobody fell inside, right? Just to be safe, we should call the fire department and emergency services, this hole needs to be sealed off.â
âWhat on earth are you talking about? I brought you here so you can go inside, now get to it and get down there and do your job!âÂ
Dojimaâs face immediately turns skeptical when he was asked to go climb down into that pit, this dream monster couldnât possibly be serious. Going down into  this hole sounds like something stupid teenagers would dare each other to do,Â
He didnât even know just how deep this hole was, looking down into it he couldnât even see the bottom, one slip and he could easily fall to his death. But.. if this a dream, heâd probably wake up if he ended up falling, right?
âWait, you want me to go down here? Are you crazy?!â
â....â
âWhat are you--?!â
Before Dojima could let out another word, he was falling headfirst into the sinkhole, the light behind him quickly dissipating at he fell in. It looks like the moth creature didnât hesitate to shove him into the pit.
All Dojima could do now was shut his eyes and grit his teeth as heâd fall, heâs heard of these dreams before, those dreams where youâre falling and you wake up before you hit the ground?Â
He hoped it was.Â
