it’s really frustrating how you have to wait like, 2 weeks before you can drink milk after you buy it. i know you gotta wait for the date on the bottle but like why cant the store just sell the milk thats ready?
She pushed a bunch of books off the shelf to make room for her

I wasn’t going to reblog but I read this just as the song was playing on my television.
I want to meet an adult who, when asked when the last time they experienced child-like happiness, answers with something like “yesterday” or “a few hours ago”.
Cleaning Supervision
how to adult:
make lots of lists
make your bed
send lots of emails and only cry maximum 5 minutes before making phone calls
scream only mildly internally when strangers talk to you
laundry sometimes
i hate when i go up north and go to restaurants and the waiter comes to take my order and im like “do yall have sweet tea??” and theyre like “no sweetheart but we have unsweetened iced tea and we can give you some sugar packets!!!” llike no you fucking yankee because now the tea is already cold so the sugar wont dissolve in it and itll all just sink the bottom and be nasty learn basic fucking solubility this is 9th grade chemistry thats why sweet tea exists in the first place you fucking heat the tea up to make it and then while its still hot you add the sugar and then you chill it and its sweet fucking tea i bet you pronounce pecan like peecan too you four seasons-having piece of shit
i hate when i go down south and go to restaurants and the waiter says “we dont serve gays”
i hate when i go up north and every yankee pretends that racism, sexism, and homophobia don’t exist where they live while simultaneously erasing the immense diversity of the South, its vibrant LGBT communities, and the existence of Black and Hispanic enclaves because northerners are terrible
I’ll say the same thing I always say when I hear this asinine rhetoric from Southerners: it’s not that racism doesn’t exist up here, or even that racism here is “covert” and racism down there is “overt.” It’s that racism up here is primarily covert and racism down there is both covert and overt. I got called a nigger by strangers walking down the street once a month in college. Up here, most dating site profiles don’t say “no blacks” like they do down there, and I’ve never heard anyone yell “nigger lover” out of a moving car at the white member of an interracial couple like I did in my college town. I had to deal with one mentally ill neo-Nazi on a train lunging at me one time up here. The number and scope of incidents involving my friends and I and hate groups down in NC is absurd. Let’s not act like it’s all the same everywhere.
Racism is part of the fabric of our society, and housing discrimination and employment discrimination and so on exist everywhere in the country. But why would I add to it the open bigotry I left behind down there? Shit like this pisses me off, because I know exactly what I went through and left behind, and the fact that you have a great circle doesn’t change the fact that the South is just plain worse on social issues, period.
CAN’T WAIT TO MOVE INTO A SIMPLE APARTMENT WITH THE LOVE OF MY LIFE AND FALL ASLEEP AND WAKE UP NEXT TO THEM AND COOK DINNER WITH THEM AND HAVE RANDOM MIDNIGHT TRIPS FOR SNACKS AND STAY UP LATE PLAYING VIDEO GAMES OR WATCHING MOVIES AND BEING ABLE TO SHARE EVERY MOMENT OF MY LIFE WITH THEM
People laugh when I try to explain Canada’s vast climate and geography:
Like how in Manitoba, we have sand dunes in the Spruce Woods Provincial park
They just kind of hang out in the middle of the prairies.
Then there’s the desert in Drumheller, Alberta, complete with wild cacti:
And then there are the rain forests in British Columbia:
…where you can find cute little fluffies like the Spirit Bear.
And then of course we have the tundra we’re so famous for. It looks a little different in the summer though:
but in the winter it looks just like you think it would
Then, of course, the Rockies and all their many, many lakes
There’s the fjords in Newfoundland
Our boreal forests look particularly stunning in the fall
We even have beaches…really nice ones too!
…anyway…I think it’s really cool. It’s not all igloos and snow drifts, you know!
Will trade soul for citizenship
I’m in heavy boreal territory, myself, and I have an extremely hard time thinking of living anywhere else
