✉ | ROBYN LEWIS ⇄ JASMINE ATWATER
Jasmine: I accept your apology.
Jasmine: But you are right, I do not desire to see you any longer. I really thought you and I had some type of connection. But ultimately you embarrassed me. You have a lot going on right now and I think you should just focus on yourself and your kids at the moment.
Jasmine: It's a very sad sentiment, knowing that all that came out of our little 'no strings attached' arrangement was just that, sex. But perhaps that was the mistake all along. Anyhow, be blessed Robyn.
Robyn: I understand. I'm sorry for the embarrassment I caused you. This is a bitter end to what could have been.
Robyn: Take care of yourself Jasmine. You'll always hold a special place in my heart and I wish you nothing but the best for whatever your future holds.
Robyn: ❤️

Jasmine: Good.
Robyn: That's good...
Robyn: Jasmine, I am sorry.
Robyn: For all of it. I was projecting my feelings about everything going on with Marcus onto you and you didn't deserve that.
Robyn: Everything that happened on our "dinner date" was completely my fault, I was being overbearing, unconventional, and unrealistic. Then... I just... I over reacted when I found out that you actually went to Miami and I made a complete ass of myself, because you're right... I get jealous. I am a jealous person.
Robyn: I am truly apologize for the way that I acted and I understand if you don't want to deal with me anymore. I just wanted to say I'm sorry.

LoveHate Thing
INVOLVED: Robyn Lewis and Jasmine Atwater TIME FRAME: Friday Evening, May 22, 2020 LOCATION: The Capital Grille; Washington, D.C. SUMMARY: As they spoke about via text, Jasmine and Robyn met up to grab a bite to eat, no a date exactly, but just a simple get together if you will. Only, Jasmine shows up late, slightly ticking Robyn off and the night goes downhill from there.
“Give me love, baby Not enough, not enough, just a touch, baby What the fuck, baby, It's just us, baby This ain't right, this is life This a love hate thing Hold me tight, let me go Heal my heart, hurt my soul Build me up, break me down Make me smile, make me frown Give me love, take it all away again Give me love, take it all away again”
“I told you that I would call you once I leave. I am having dinner with a friend,” Jasmine told Kingston, holding the phone between her ear and shoulder as she rubbed some lip gloss onto her lips. “Kingston,” she breathed softly. “I told you I was very busy lately. I don’t have space on my schedule to fly with Juana to Miami right now,” she confirmed. Their reservations were set for 7PM, and here it was 7:25, and she was held up on the phone with him, she hadn’t even gotten the opportunity to text Robyn. But she was sure the woman was already here as well. Looking through the parking lot Jasmine said, “mhm,” to him gently as she twisted the rings off her finger. “Maybe some time next month, but I really have to go,” she told him again. “I will call you…” she said to him again as she sighed, “you too,” she said with an eye roll as she hung the phone up. “Jesus Christ,” she said exasperatedly as she finally climbed out of the car; she locked the doors and tossed her phone and keys into her LV bag. She shifted the belt on her waist and moved on her heels towards the front entrance of the building moving towards the hostess.
Robyn sat in the booth, nails tapping against the table idly as she looked around the restaurant slowly. Her eyes kept looking towards the door and she gnawed on her lip anxiously. Pulling her phone from her bag, she double checked the time before she blew out a huff of air. Had Jasmine stood her up? This was her idea in the first place. Shaking her head, she decided that she would give the woman another ten minutes before she just left. With that thought, she began flipping through the menu, trying to keep her mind occupied.
“Atwater,” Jasmine said to the hostess as she held her purse in her hand, “it should be a reservation for two,” she added holding up two fingers at the woman. When the woman found her in the system she smiled, “yes your other party member is already seated, so follow me,” the hostess said back to Jasmine and she nodded her head following her like she asked. Jasmine moved through the large facility and she smirked as she moved over to the table that Robyn was at taking her in with a bright smile. She was so beautiful, she practically shined with her own special glow everywhere she went. “Hey,” she said as the woman showed her to the table before departing. “I am so sorry Robyn, Juana… held me up,” she said offering her an apologetic smile. “You look beautiful though,” she complimented as she lowered herself in the seat across from her.
Robyn flipped to the next page in the menu, looking over the various dinner options with a deep sigh. As the hostess approached with Jasmine in tow, she looked up at the woman. She was a bit upset, but she tried not to show it as she smiled at Jasmine. “Hi,” she said sweetly. At Jasmine’s excuse, Robyn pursed her lips slightly, knowing that the woman was lying. “It’s fine, I haven’t been waiting that long,” she said, with a lick of her lips. “Thank you,” she said, tucking her braids behind her ear. “As do you.”
Jasmine looked at her and smirked a bit, “almost 30 minutes,” she said, calling it for what it was. “But you know what being a mother is like first-hand,” she said continuing her lie as she shifted sitting her purse down. “Thank you,” she told her cutely as she looked at the menu. “ Are you ready to order? You know what you want?” she asked her as she flipped the menu open and began to look it over.
Nodding slightly, Robyn shifted a bit, pulling her dress down her thighs a bit under the table. “So, you’re going to hold up this lie?” she questioned Jasmine, feeling very irritated at the moment. Licking her lips once more, she slid her phone back into her purse now that Jasmine was sitting before her, she no longer really needed to worry about the time. “I am not,” she flipped the menu once more, a bit rougher than she really needed to out of her irritation.
At her words Jasmine looked up from the menu her smile falling a bit. “Robyn,” she said to her simply as she not only had been caught but didn’t know what else to say. She shifted in the seat, “it was a bit of drama…” she shrugged, “why tell you that when I can put it off on something else?” she asked her quietly. “Are you going to be mad at me the whole time now?” she asked her, “because I was a little late…”
Robyn lifted her eyes to Jasmine and she pursed her lips at the woman’s words. “I don’t care what it was,” she said, “I’ve already been lied to for years apparently, “ she told Jasmine, “the minimum that I need from you is the truth,” she voiced. “Can you give me that?” At Jasmine’s next question, she sighed, “I can deal with you being late… I’m not mad.”
Jasmine looked at Robyn again, “you can’t punish me or anyone else that comes after him for what he chose to do,” she said to her seriously. “I was protecting you from a ruined night… I didn’t lie,” she said to her seriously. “I brought you to dinner because of him… to maybe get your mind off what you are dealing with,” she said giving her a knowing look. “I won’t make you a promise, that I may not keep, I'm human just like you,” she said looking down at the menu, folding it up a bit. “Now figure out what you want to eat…” she said slyly.
Robyn’s neck jerked back slightly. “Asking for you not to lie to me is punishing you?” she questioned, baffled. Nodding slowly at Jasmine’s words, Robyn reached for her purse as she began to slide from the booth. “You’ve basically just told me that you’re going to lie to me,” she said as she stood onto her feet, pulling her dress down slightly. “So… you can have a good night Jasmine,” she said easily, flipping some of her braids back over shoulder as she moved for the exit.
Jasmine's eyes scanned the menu slowly before she looked at Robyn again watching her reach for her purse and she licked her lips. She tilted her head slowly, “what?” she said keeping her voice down. “Robyn sat down,” she said to her gently. “That’s not even what I said,” she tried to reason. The thought of Robyn embarrassing her like this made the demanding and more masculine side of her come out and she said without much thought, “sit down,” through her teeth, “and stop turning up on me, in here, because of a misunderstanding and obvious miscommunication,” she said to her, her eyes glaring at Robyn’s.
Robyn glanced back at Jasmine at her soft calling and she pulled her bottom lip into her mouth as she slowly lowered her thick body back into the booth seat. She rested her purse in her lap as she stared across the table at Jasmine, blinking slowly as the woman glared at her. “Just tell me the truth,” Robyn whispered to her. “That is all that I ask,” she said.
“Girl have you lost your mind? As long as I am eating you out like filet mignon, you are going to sit there and order one. We aren’t doing this today Robyn,” Jasmine said to her shaking her head. A bit of a ‘tude on her now, which was rare because a lot of things don’t bother her; but Robyn’s impulsiveness did. She looked back at the menu and she thought about what she wanted to eat quietly to herself, this happened to have been a plan for them to get to know each other better but well things didn’t always go as planned.
Robyn sat back slightly, sitting her purse aside once more now as she picked her menu up, crossing her legs under the table. She licked her lips as she clenched her thighs together as she said, “okay,” in a submissive-like voice. She used the menu to fan herself now as she gazed across the table at Jasmine, her lips parted slightly.
Jasmine blinked hard as she decided what they’d have as an appetizer in her mind before she made her final selection as the woman approached them, that she assumed was their waitress. “Hello, welcome,” the girl said to both women, “what drinks could I start you ladies off with?” she asked them both with a smile. Jasmine looked at the girl and said, “hi,” to her politely, her attitude melting. “Um, actually could we have a bottle of your Pinot Noir?” she asked the girl. And their waitress nodded her head at Jasmine, “of course,” she said pleasantly, “I will go grab that and two wine glasses for you both,” she said as she moved to walk off. Jasmine offered her a polite smile before she dropped it as the woman walked off and she looked at the menu again. “Shrimp cocktail?” she asked her curiously. The woman could be allergic to shellfish and other things she didn’t know.
Robyn was very quiet as she gazed at Jasmine, her tongue rolling over her lips slowly before she finally broke her gaze, looking at the waitress as the woman approached. She sat her menu down, greeting the woman with a soft, “hello,” before Jasmine ordered wine for them. She looked at Jasmine, a small smirk tugging the corners of her plump lips before she tucked them in to hide it. As the waitress walked off, she looked at Jasmine, nodding slightly. “That’s fine,” she breathed out, shifting slightly. “I would like the caesar salad as well.”
“You got it,” Jasmine said, never looking at her directly before she sat the menu down finally. She shifted in her chair and moved to drape her napkin over her lap as she pushed some braids back out of her way. In a flash the waitress was back with the bottle and their glasses. The woman sat the ice bucket down on the table with the bottle inside of it. She grabbed it, used a corkscrew out of her apron and popped the bottle open before she filled their glasses with a smile. Corking the bottle once more and sitting it down within the ice again. “Will we be having any appetizers?” she asked them both, looking at the browner skinned woman who spoke up last time. Jasmine nodded her head, “thanks,” she said to her before she said, “shrimp cocktail and a caesar salad,” with her hands in her lap. “We are ready to order as well,” she added, if Robyn hadn’t selected that would be her ass because she told her to look and choose before she showed her behind. “I will be having the Sea Bass and I’d like lobster mac and asparagus,” she told her before she looked at Robyn.
Robyn sat there, hands in her lap as she looked at Jasmine. She shifted slightly, uncrossing her legs and re-crossing them in the other direction as she turned her gaze to look at the other side of the restaurant, taking in the various patrons, before their waitress returned. She looked up at the woman, tugging her dress down some as she did. Watching the woman pour their glasses, she said, “thank you,” easily, looking at Jasmine. She let Jasmine order before she looked at the woman, “I’ll have the filet minion, ten ounce, cooked well-done, with…” she paused for a moment, flipping her menu open, “creamed spinach and grilled asparagus.”
Jasmine watched Robyn order, a slight squint and smile on her face as the girl jot it all down and repeated it back to them. “Yep,” she said to the girl with a smile. “Okay, I’ll go put this in for you ladies,” she said to them both before she excused herself and left. Jasmine moved her hands on top of the table and she looked at Robyn “I cannot make a promise that big to you. I won’t do it, because if I don’t keep up my end of the bargain either way it’s my ass on the line here,” she told her. “It’s not even realistic Robyn,” she told her, “you used that man as every excuse, knowing you weren’t happy in your marriage, that is a lie,” she told her. “Every time you told me no, when your body was saying yes to me… was a lie,” she said looking in her eyes. “I won’t do anything to you, that I wouldn’t want you to do to me…” she said. “That’s it...” she said, “okay?” she asked her. “This isn’t… we don’t even know what this is and you are putting ultimatums on the table” she said with wide eyes. “Have you always been this possessive?” she asked her.
Watching the waitress leave, Robyn nodded slightly before she looked at Jasmine. Listening to the woman, she was very quiet. She felt like Jasmine was just trying to maneuver around agreeing because she had zero intentions of being honest with her, which wasn’t very hard. “Happy or not, he’s my husband,” she said, using the present tense because despite it all, they were still indeed married, even if she did put him out of the house, “that is not a lie, that’s the truth,” she informed Jasmine. However, at Jasmine’s next statement Robyn pursed her lips, “lying to myself and lying to you are two very different things and you cannot throw that back at me,” she said, “you know this is a new experience for me,” she countered. At Jasmine’s compromise, Robyn nodded her head, reluctantly agreeing as she said, “okay.” Picking up her glass, she swirled the wine around a bit before she brought it to her lips, “you’ve very clearly stated that this is just eating,” taking a sip only to choke slightly. She stifled a cough and looked at Jasmine shocked, “excuse me?” she questioned as she sat her glass down and picked up her napkin to cover her mouth.
Jasmine looked at Robyn as she continued to speak and she leaned a little, looking into her eyes. If she wanted the truth, fine, sure, she’d give her the truth. That was no problem, Robyn just won’t like all of the truth she had to tell. “I was late because I was on the phone going back and forth with Kingston about Juana…” she said to her, which was the truth. “There you go, there’s your truth,” she said to her easily as she sat back in her chair. When the woman did not answer her question directly, she picked her own glass up and took a sip of it gently before she sat it down. “Why are you so possessive?” she asked her, “and so jealous all the time,” she breathed to her easily. “Don’t play coy, you know it and I know it,” she said to her. “You’ve already pissed on me like a dog to a hydrant… and you don’t even own me,” she said easily. “OCD, jealousy, possessiveness…. What else?” she challenged.
“And you didn’t think I would understand that?” Robyn questioned slightly; a bit peeved that Jasmine lied over something so simple. “You’re co-parenting… I get it,” she said, licking her lips. As Jasmine pressed about possessiveness, Robyn squinted at her slightly. “I am not possessive,” she said full out now. “I am not jealous, I…” she pursed her lips. “I am known to get jealous but… that is rare,” she said to Jasmine before she added, “like a dog to a hydrant?” Tilting her head slightly, Robyn brushed her hand over her bare chest, brushing hair away, “Yes, I have OCD,” she said out-right.
“It was about me flying to Miami with her for him, so no,” Jasmine said pursing her lips. “Your jealous streak would not have been understanding at all, Mrs. cut-all-ties-with-him,” she reminded her with a knowing look. “You are all of those things Robyn, it’s a shame you are lying about it,” she told her with a smirk before she took another sip. “Like a moth to a flame,” she said listing another set of phrases. “I made you cum and just like that,” she snapped, “I have a leash,” she told her quietly, “it’s okay though…” she added with a chuckle. She took another sip from the glass she had before she said, “I like fucking you, so the leash can stay,” she winked as she tilted to the glass to her gently before she took another sip, finishing the glass off before she sat it down.
“As long as you’re not fucking him,” Robyn said, actually growing jealous in the moment. “That is not what I said,” she countered, “I don’t care if you see him, you have to see him,” she said thoughtfully. Calm down. You don’t even have a title. You barely know this woman. Relax. At Jasmine’s words, Robyn pursed her lips and asked, “you a psychologist now?” As Jasmine went on, Robyn’s eyes grew wide and she said, “that’s disrespectful,” as she gazed across at Jasmine. “Wow…” she breathed as she stood up, leaving her purse. “I’ll be back,” she said, shaking her head as she walked off, moving for the restroom.
Jasmine looked at Robyn and she rested her hands in her lap, why she couldn’t sleep with her ex was beyond her. Robyn had no claim to her at all. As she told her she was disrespectful her eyebrows raised easily at the woman, she wanted the truth but couldn’t handle it? Now wasn’t that a damn contradiction. She did like fucking her, oops. Was that supposed to be a secret? And to who? All they did was fuck. She didn’t even know Robyn’s middle name. Licking her lips, she watched the appetizers as they surfaced and she smiled, “looks good,” she told the young girl with a smile. She watched her walk away and she poured herself some more wine before she grabbed a shrimp dipping it in cocktail sauce, popping it into her mouth and dropping the tail to the plate the woman provided and she chewed happily. “Mm,” she said softly, “that is good.”
Robyn pushed the heavy door open hard, ignoring it as it hit the wall, and she moved for the sink, looking at herself in the mirror. She had a slight scowl spread across her face from her irritation. Clearly, she had made a huge mistake in thinking she could ever have anything with Jasmine. They were too damn different, that was clear as ever to her now. No matter how hot the woman made her, with just words alone, they would never work. Not really. Turning, she walked into a stall and grabbed a seat cover before she folded it and began to dab a bit of oil from her face. She liked Jasmine, but she didn’t know Jasmine, and now that she was beginning to, she didn’t exactly like her much anymore. Licking her lips, she moved back to the mirror as she continued to dab her face. Sighing out, she tossed the paper in the trash and moved to wash her hands. Grabbing a paper towel, she dried them quickly before she pressed her lips together and moved to exit the restroom. She walked back to the table, having decided to finish the dinner, as to not embarrass Jasmine, but once this was over, they needed to go their separate ways.
Jasmine sat there and popped another shrimp into her mouth, chewing lightly on it as she sat there alone. She took another sip from the glass before Robyn returned and she stopped eating, wanting to save the woman some shrimp as well as she cleaned her hands with her napkin.
Sitting back down at the table, Robyn looked at the appetizers and she grabbed her plate and the tongs, adding a bit of salad to her plate easily. Taking her napkin, she laid it over her lap and said a quick prayer to herself in her head, before she grabbed her fork and ate some of the salad quietly.
Jasmine watched Robyn across the table as she made her plate and she licked her lips slowly. “The shrimp are good,” she offered them to her, gesturing with her hand.
Robyn looked across the table at Jasmine and she used her fork to pick up a shrimp, dipping it into the sauce a bit before she brought the crustacean to her mouth and ate it. Sitting her fork down, she gently pulled the tail from her mouth, sitting it aside.
Jasmine watched Robyn as she stuck her fork and she sighed softly to herself with a headshake. “I really wanted to come here and get to know you more. I didn’t want to call it a date because we aren’t anything,” she told her. “But you won’t even try to take that stick from up your ass,” she said seriously. “You slept with me on a couch in the back of a hair salon… you are judging me?” she asked her with a raised brow. “Because why? I like the intimate moments we share. Who wouldn’t?” she asked, confused.
Robyn ate more of her salad now, looking at Jasmine as the woman attempted to salvage the evening. She listened to her, eating more of the salad as she bit back a comment at the woman’s insult. She stayed quiet for a very long time before she said, “I’m judging you?” questioningly. “You called me a dog… and told me that you enjoy my company because I’m a good lay.... I think I have the right to be upset,” she replied to Jasmine with an arched eyebrow as she pushed up her cloth and wiped the corners of her mouth a bit.
“That’s not what I said,” Jasmine told her defensively, she couldn’t believe the way the lady flipped things. Damn. There was a chip on her shoulder and obviously it was going nowhere. “I used a phrase and you are mad, deflecting from the real point. Which is that you are possessive and jealous spirited. You’d have an issue with me sleeping with anyone else, it doesn’t even have to be Kingston. And if you say otherwise, you are lying,” she told her. “I didn’t say you were a good lay, I said I like laying with you,” she said, “But you are about to piss me off,” she said pointing at her easily, she could feel it boiling inside of her. It made her want to smack her and fuck all at the same time, she hated it. “I can’t satisfy you even when I try, even if I wanted to,” she said with a heavy sigh as she popped another shrimp into her mouth, eating it hungrily.
Robyn blinked slightly, looking at Jasmine as she ate her salad more, finishing what was on her plate before she pushed it away. “Maybe I do,” she said, neck rolling slightly, “because if you’re fucking me four times a week, why do you need to be with someone else?” she questioned. Licking her lips slowly, Robyn looked away from Jasmine now. “Clearly this, nothing that we have going on, isn’t going to work,” she said, “so let’s just cut our losses here and now.”
Jasmine raised a brow at her words, “just like that?” she asked her. “So, all that things felt different stuff you gave me was what a lie?” she asked her. “Because when it comes to those things, I have given you nothing but the truth,” she told her. “You trippin’ right now,” she said shaking her head.
Robyn lifted and dropped her shoulders. “No, it wasn't a lie,” she replied, “but we’re clearly not very compatible outside of the bedroom,” she said, licking her lips. “I like you, I do,” she began, “but this…” she said pointing between the two of them, “already seems like a match made in hell.”
Jasmine looked at Robyn and she blinked slowly nodding her head at her slowly. “Mhm,” she said to her simply, well, that decision was made for Kingston and so very easily. She reached for her purse and pulled her phone out, she easily sent the man a text and tucked it back away. She was a pushover, people toyed around with her and she let them do it every time. She turned her head to see their food and she allowed the woman to take what they didn’t need and place the new plates and sides against the table before them.
Looking at Jasmine, Robyn watched as the woman pulled out her phone and sent someone a text. She bit her lip softly, looking away now as their waitress returned with their plates of food. “Thank you,” she said easily as hers was set before her. Humming softly, Robyn reached for her knife and fork, cutting into her filet mignon easily. Actually, sitting across from Jasmine in silence was killing her. She actually did want to get to know the woman better, but she was stubborn and her feelings were hurt. No, she couldn’t blame it all on Jasmine, her husband had much to do with it and she was taking out residual things on Jasmine. She brought a bite of the streak to her mouth and chewed on it with a hum. It was so good; she didn’t need any sauce. She swallowed that piece before she dipped her fork into her creamed spinach, and she looked across at Jasmine.
Jasmine didn’t say anything more she didn’t even know if they were a good match or not, she didn’t give them time. Robyn had managed to hurt her feelings in the moment though she didn’t try to let it show as she looked at the plate and smiled. “Thanks,” she said to the young girl softly, “it looks amazing,” she told her, complimenting the chef. “Is there anything else that you two ladies would need or I could get you?” she asked them both and Jasmine shook her head. “No, thank you, this is fine,” she told her. She picked her fork up and dipped into the Bass forking some into her mouth, averting her gaze to something else as she ate. She looked around the restaurant at the other couples and dinner goers.
Robyn looked at the waitress, shaking her head a bit at the question. “No thank you,” she said herself before she looked back at her plate. She forked some asparagus into her mouth before she sat her fork down against the plate and picked up her cloth, wiping her mouth a bit. She then picked up her glass and took a sip of her wine with a small sigh. She was already starting to feel bad about essentially blowing up on Jasmine. Sipping a bit more, Robyn sat the glass aside before she looked at Jasmine. “I’m sorry…” she apologized.
Jasmine forked some lobster mac-and-cheese into her mouth savoring the taste, it happened to be one of her favorites whenever she came with Kingston. She heard Robyn’s words and she nodded her head saying, “mhm,” to her without looking at her as her phone buzzed in her bag. She ignored it because she knew for a fact it was Kingston probably texting her back a response and probably an entire itinerary by now.
With that Robyn returned her focus to her meal, cutting into her filet mignon once more. She forked the meat into her mouth, looking over at other people as they talked and ate at their various tables. Licking her lips, she ate some of her asparagus before her own phone began buzzing in her bag and she sat her fork down, reaching into her purse to pull it out. She looked at the caller before she said to Jasmine quickly, “I have to take this,” as she slid from the booth and walked away, moving to a quieter area of the restaurant, near the restrooms to answer the phone, speaking to Willow.
Jasmine heard the phone and she looked up finally as she forked more food into her mouth. She was enjoying the food she was eating and the place never disappointed. As the woman excused herself from the table answering, her phone, she nodded her head at her, nothing bothered her outside of her comment. She continued to eat alone at the table eating a good portion of the mac, bass, and asparagus.
Nodding slightly, Robyn spoke back and forth with Willow for a few minutes before she ended the call and returned to the table. She sat back down, sliding her phone back into her purse as she resumed her meal in silence.
As Robyn returned to the table returning to her food, she looked at her, “so…” she said to her easily. “Do you need to leave?” Jasmine asked her simply as she looked at her with a raised brow.
Looking across at Jasmine, Robyn shook her head. “No, it’s fine…” she sighed out. “Junior just fell and scraped up his knee and arm a bit,” she told the woman. “He’ll be okay,” she explained as she ate more of her food easily.
At Robyn’s words, Jasmine nodded her head slowly at her, darn it was a shame, that was bait to excuse herself but she chose to stay. Why at this point Jasmine didn’t know. She continued to eat her food and she looked at the waitress as she returned asking them if anything was okay. Jasmine looked at her and nodded her head, “yes, whenever you find the time you can bring the check, it’ll be one,” she said raising one finger. She watched as the girl nodded and left them to continue to eat the food and she picked a few more pieces of asparagus.
As their waitress returned, Robyn looked at the woman before she looked at Jasmine as she asked for the check. Licking her lips, she stayed quiet as she ate more of her food, quietly clearing her plate one bite at a time. She glanced over at Jasmine once more, watching her for a moment before she returned her focus to her food, finishing it all quietly. Sitting back now, she used her napkin to wipe her mouth a bit.
Jasmine continued to eat her food gently and when she was too full to finish, she sat her plate aside. She raised her glass and finished the entire glass before she sat it down, she grabbed her napkin and cleaned her mouth. She looked at the woman and said, “I hope your enjoyed dinner,” she told her simply, she clasped her hands together against the table as she waited for the girl to get a to-go box.
Robyn shifted, crossing her ankles as she rested there, only looking over at Jasmine when she spoke. “I did, thank you,” she replied back to the woman easily, not wanting any more conflict between the two of them. Reaching for her glass, she took a sip of her wine before she just cradled the glass in her hand. As her phone began to buzz once more, Robyn reached into her purse with her freehand, fishing it out. “What’s going on Willow?” she asked now, right there at the table. Listening to the girl on the other end, she nodded slowly before she said, “just bathe him and tell him I’ll be home soon,” she said, licking her lips before her son took the phone from Willow and began crying to her. She sighed out, “honey, I’ll be home soon, I promise,” she said looking away from Jasmine. “I’ll come home and kiss all of your bruises and we can snuggle up and watch transformers,” she hummed out, making kissy noises into the receiver for her son.
The waitress returned with the check and Jasmine thanked her sweetly, as she reached for her purse and opened it pulling her wallet out. She looked for the right card and pulled out the American Express, resting it within the book without looking at the check physically. She closed the book and sat it off to the edge of the table for the woman to come back and grab it from her to finish checking her out for the night. When she did return only a moment later and she asked her politely, “may I also have a to go box?” to the young girl. “Of course,” she said, grabbing the book and she moved to do that before returning with the box for the woman first before she departed them to check them out. Jasmine grabbed the box and began to fill it with her leftovers.
Robyn smiled softly as her son’s crying quieted down a bit and she repeated, “mommy will be home very, very soon,” she said sweetly as the waitress returned with the check. She looked across the table at Jasmine as the woman pulled out her card to pay. “Give the phone back to Willow now,” she said softly to her boy before Willow was on the phone once more and she said, “I’ll be home soon,” she told the girl. “Like I said just give him a bath and I should be home by the time he’s getting out,” she said, licking her lips. “How are the girls?” she questioned, growing quiet as Willow told her. She nodded and said, “okay good, I’ll see you shortly.” Pulling the phone from her ear, she began to collect her things, “thank you for dinner,” she said to Jasmine as she began to slid from the booth.
Jasmine placed everything into her box and she sat the plates and things aside after she did. She looked at the waitress as she returned with a bag and she scribbled on the receipt. “Yep,” she said to Robyn as the woman moved to get up from the table to leave. “Here you go,” she told the waitress now as she handed the girl over a fifty-dollar tip for the night. “You were perfect sweetheart,” she told her kindly. She placed her box into the bag, and she tucked her card and receipt into her purse zipping it up. She grabbed her keys and grabbed her bag standing up, she fixed her dress a bit, brushing it off before she pushed some braids over her shoulder.
Nodding at Jasmine, Robyn pulled her purse into her shoulder and left without a backwards glance or any other words. Moving outside, she pulled her keys from her purse and unlocked her car. Sliding into it, she placed her purse in the passenger seat before she buckled up, started up the vehicle and left.
Forfeit
INVOLVED: Robyn Lewis and Allison Price TIME FRAME: Late Monday Afternoon, 25, 2020 LOCATION: Leia Lauren Hair Salon; Washington, DC SUMMARY: After the horrible date night that Robyn and Jasmine had, Robyn goes to the shop, trying to apologize and make amends with Jasmine only to learn that the woman up and went to Miami for a week, to be with Kingston.
Holding a container of homemade cupcakes, Robyn pushed through the doors of the salon, biting her lip softly as she did. Looking at the receptionist, she placed the container on the counter and asked, “is Jasmine in today?”
Sharon looked up at Robyn as she entered the salon and she smiled at her politely. “Hello,” she said to her, and instantaneously there was a, “hello,” that rang out from the other staff members. Upon the woman’s question she shook her head gently, “no ma’am, I am afraid she is on vacation right now. She’ll return to the salon next Monday,” she said with a smile. “Did you need to set an appointment with her?” she asked her kindly.
Robyn pursed her lips at the woman’s answer to her question and she nodded slowly, “No, thank you, it’s fine.” She let out a sigh before she asked, leaning in a bit, “do you know where she went for her vacation?”
Sharon looked at the woman and she nodded her head, “okay, sorry about that,” she said sympathetically. “Um,” she said not knowing if she was supposed to tell the woman that information or why she even wanted to know. “Uh,” she said again, “Florida,” she told her not giving a precise location to the woman.
Robyn listened to the receptionist and she gritted her teeth, highly irritated that the woman went to Miami to be with Kingston. Jasmine gave her so much shit for putting up with a man who was indeed her husband, but she ran around and flodged and dodged with Kingston, knowing full well that the man was sleeping with every other woman under the Miami sun and then some. “These are for everyone,” she said tapping the container of cupcakes with her nail. “A variety of cupcakes,” she explained, not even acknowledging the answer she was given. “Enjoy,” she said through a grimacing smile as she turned to exit the shop.
Allison looked up to see Robyn standing at the receptionist desk with a container of food, she slowly looked over at Genesis before she looked back at her. She licked her lips slowly before she moved to place her client under the dryer, setting her up and leaving her before she moved back to her section. When Robyn prepared to leave, she walked over to her, catching her quickly. “Hey, you,” she said easily, “need an appointment?” she asked her curiously.
Sharon looked at the woman’s face before she acknowledged the container and when she did, she nodded her head at her. “Okay, thanks. I will let everyone know,” she told her kindly, a smile on her face as she watched the woman leave.
Robyn stopped short hearing Allison and she turned, looking back at the woman. “Oh no, not right now,” she said as she gazed at Alisson. “I was just… dropping in,” she said, shifting her weight onto her hip a bit as she adjusted her purse on her shoulder. “How was your vacation?” she asked now, deflecting.
Allison nodded her head slowly at the woman folding her arms over her chest. “Oh, okay” she said to her nodding her head, “you like checking in on us, huh?” she pressed her next. When the woman threw a question at her and she smiled, “pretty good, the kids, hubby and I needed it,” she said to her kindly. “How are your kids? Your husband?” she asked her with a smile.
Nodding slightly, Robyn said, “yeah, just checking in,” she insisted. As Allison spoke about her vacation, she nodded a bit more, “oh that’s great, did you travel or was it a staycation?” she asked curiously. At the mention of her husband, Robyn tucked her lips in slightly. “The kids are great,” she said.
Allison looked at the woman and nodded her head, looking back for a moment before she looked back at Robyn. “Traveled to Florida. Disney World” she told her with a bright smile. “That’s good to hear…” she said, noticing the lack or mention of her husband in her response. “Well you look good girl,” she complimented taking her in. “Jasmine braided the hell out of your hair,” she told her examining it.
Shifting her weight once more, Robyn nodded at Allison. “Oh, I’m going to take the kids there this summer,” she said with a small smile tugging her lips. “Planning the whole trip now,” she explained. “Me? You,” she said with a hum. “That vacation has you glowing,” she said before she pursed her lips at the mention of Jasmine now, “Mhm, I’m about to take them out,” she said, “it’s going on six weeks,” she added with a hum.
Allison nodded her head at the woman. “Okay, that’s neat,” she said with a smile. “They are going to love it of course,” she told her nodding her head. “Oh girl,” she waved off, dismissing her compliment easily as she chuckled at her. “Oh okay,” she said to her nodding her head again, “well,” she breathed “you know where to find me. I’ll let you get going, don’t want to hold you up,” she lied easily.
Robyn pulled her purse up her shoulder once more. “Absolutely,” she said, knowing that they were going to lose it when she told them. At Allison's dismissal, Robyn nodded, and she said, “yeah, I should go,” before she pointed, “I brought cupcakes for everyone,” she said, letting the woman know. “They’re vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate and they all have cream cheese frosting,” she said easily.
Allison looked back at the treats and then she looked at the woman again. “Hm,” she said to her looking back at Robyn, “donuts, now cupcakes…” she said looking into her eyes. “You trying to get a few free visits Robyn?” she asked her jokingly. “I don’t know what’s gotten into you, but keep it coming we like goodies,” she said to her playfully.
“Who told you about the donuts?” Robyn asked with an arched eyebrow, knowing that the woman was out of town when she brought them. She chuckled meekly now, “no, just being generous,” she said waving it off, muttering under her breath, “you don’t want to know.” She cleared her throat before she chuckled. “I don’t know,” she said back playfully now, “you might get spoiled if I do it too often,” she said.
“Genesis,” Allison said to her, “told me I really missed out on something good,” she told her gently. She licked her lips again resting her hands in her smock before she chuckled with her. “You may be right about that one,” she said wagging her finger at her.
Robyn nodded slowly, glancing over at Genesis in the shop before she looked back at Allison. “Maybe I’ll bring them again some time,” she said, “I got them from District Doughnut,” she explained before a laugh escaped her. “Yeah,” she said, shaking her head a bit. “I’ve got to go but I’ll catch you later for an appointment for the girls,” she said easily.
At her words Allison nodded her head again, “of course,” she told her with a smile. “Drive safe,” she added before she turned around moving towards the receptionist. Now Allison wanted to know what they had been talking about before she stopped Robyn.
Nodding, Robyn waved at Allison, and the rest of the shop as she left, knowing that the women were going to have a field day.
Broken Hearted
INVOLVED: Robyn Lewis and Jasmine Atwater TIME FRAME: Tuesday, May 12, 2020 LOCATION: Lewis Home; Washington, D.C. SUMMARY: After finding out that her husband has been cheating on her, Robyn packs up many of his things and invites Jasmine over, just wanting the comfort of the woman.
Robyn walked through the house, collecting Marcus’ things for him as she packed him up. All of his things were neatly packed and stored away for him to collect, when she felt like she was ready to see his face.
Jasmine pulled up, deciding to park on the street instead of the driveway; she didn’t know what she was getting into. She could be walking into a lion's den right now, what if her husband came to the house while she was there? She sighed and shot Robyn the text she asked for, looking out of her window and towards the house as she turned the car off and bit her lip, very unsure of herself right now.
Robyn tucked a few of his knickknacks into the box before she heard her phone buzzing and she grabbed it, viewing the message from Jasmine. Licking her full lips, she sat her phone back down and padded barefoot across the hardwood. Moving through the living room, she made her way to the foyer and she opened the front door, peering out at Jasmine’s car parked on the street and she waved for the woman.
Jasmine continued to sit there for a while, she twisted the rings Kingston had given her off her finger and dropped them in the cup holder as she noticed the door opening. She climbed out of the car and allowed her red bottom sneakers to hit the gravel before she closed the car door and locked it. With her keys in one hand and her phone in her other she moved up towards the front entrance of the woman’s home. Were her kids home? Shit. She licked her lips finally reaching the front door and she said, “you okay?” to her taking a deep breath.
Robyn bit her lip softly, watching as Jasmine climbed from her car and she shifted her weight, leaning against the door frame a bit. Since she had been home, she had sent Willow and the kids away, asking Willow to take the children to Iris’s house to relieve the teenage girl of her duties. She had changed from her clothes of the day, into something more comfortable, and began packing her husband's things because after having some time to think about it, she wanted him out. As Jasmine approached her, she sighed out and she nodded. “I’m better now,” she said reaching out her arms to Jasmine.
Jasmine watched Robyn and she nodded her head at her. “Good,” she breathed softly as she moved into the woman’s arm wrapping her up. She pecked the side of her face sweetly as she hugged her tightly taking in her scent, she’d missed her even if she didn’t admit it outright. She thought about her all-day Mother’s Day, though she didn’t say it then either. Pulling away she said, “so,” softly to her as they stood in the doorway.
Robyn hugged Jasmine tightly as the woman wrapped her up and she let out a deep sad sigh as she held her, while Jasmine pecked her face. She closed her eyes, just basking in the feeling of being in Jasmine’s arms before Jasmine pulled away and she shifted on her bare feet, looking down at Jasmine’s shoes. “Shoes off,” she said softly as she walked over to the basket and leaned down, picking it up before she brought it over for Jasmine to place her shoes in.
Jasmine watched her and she sighed softly. “Right, shoes off,” she repeated to herself. She had to remember this type of stuff when it came to her obviously. She unlaced the shoes on her feet and took them off placing them in the basket. Stepping through the door in her socks now she looked in further before she looked at Robyn.
Robyn watched Jasmine as she took off her shoes and she said, “thank you.” As Jasmine stepped into the home, she closed the door behind her, locking it, before she placed the basket back exactly where it belonged. “I’m putting his ass out,” she said now as she moved out of the foyer and back into the living room where she had at least ten boxes of his things packed away.
Jasmine moved further into the house behind her, hearing her words and she entered the living room seeing the boxes. She took them all in before she nodded her head saying, “okay,” to her softly. She still didn’t know why she was here, what it meant, or even if she meant it. It was still fresh but she didn’t think Robyn would actually leave him.
Robyn turned to look at Jasmine and she gazed into the woman’s eyes, her shoulders slumping slightly as she shifted her weight over to her hip. “Junior would have still been in diapers…” she said biting her lip hard as she shook her head a bit, trying not to start crying again.
Jasmine looked at Robyn as she added some more thoughts into the matter, and she licked her lips nodding. “What do you need from me?” she asked her, she still didn’t know why she was there. Or what she needed. She looked around and said, “you said you wanted to see me?” she asked her.
Robyn let out a sigh and she actually shrugged her shoulders to the question Jasmine posed. “I…” she sighed once more as she moved to sit down on the couch, dropping her head into her hands, her braids curtaining around her face. “I did want to see you,” she said softly after a moment before she lifted her head and looked at Jasmine once more. “C’mere,” she said, patting the spot beside her on the couch.
Jasmine watched her as she sat down and she licked her lips again, she moved beside her like she gestured. She sat her keys and phone down on the couch beside them before she said. “I want to be here for you, but I don’t know what to do…” she told her softly as she wrapped an arm around her hip. She hugged her close and pecked her cheek again, “did you want my help?” she asked her looking back at the boxes as her other hand caressed the woman’s thigh gently.
Robyn shifted slightly as Jasmine sat down beside her and she nodded slightly as Jasmine wrapped her arm around her. She leaned into Jasmine saying truthfully, “no, no, I just… I wanted to be near you.” She looked at Jasmine after the woman kissed her cheek and she let out a sigh. “I can’t stand him for what he’s done but I don’t feel guilty about what we’ve done,” she admitted.
Jasmine looked at Robyn as she admitted she just wanted her near, she nodded her head hiding her smirk. Hm. She went on to explain her deepest thought about the matter and she nodded her head at her again. “I get it,” she told her quietly. She hugged her closer to her body wrapping both arms around her tightly, and she pecked her forehead gently. “You are a good woman Robyn,” she told her, “you can’t help what your flesh yearned for because of him,” she said. “I’m just glad… in a way this came out,” she said softly, “so you can stop wasting your time with someone who cared nothing about it.”
Gnawing on her lip softly, Robyn listened to Jasmine as she spoke her thoughts. “I’m still wrong though,” she said knowingly. “Just as wrong as him,” she breathed out, “but…” she shrugged out. “I...” she paused, not wanting to phrase it incorrectly. “You came at the right time,” she whispered, “the perfect time,” she licked her lips as she looked at Jasmine. “I’ve been unhappy for so long,” she admitted, “but I put up with him because I love him, despite the unhappiness…” she sighed, “but being around you and with you,” she shifted on the couch slightly, tucking a leg under her body. “Your words have definitely put things into perspective for me,” she told her, “I deserve so much better…” she said, licking her lips, “and that’s why I don’t regret this between us…”
Jasmine looked at Robyn as she spoke to her, explaining more of what she thought and felt inside. She shifted a bit, loosening her grip one arm around Robyn’s shoulder now. “I get it,” she told her confidently and she rubbed her shoulder gently.
Robyn reached over and gently stroked Jasmine’s cheek before she leaned in and kissed the woman softly. “Thank you for coming over,” she said now before she turned to Jasmine and wrapped her up, hugging her close once more. She just held the woman for a bit before she pulled back and moved to stand up. “Can I get you anything, water maybe?” she asked.
Jasmine kissed her back easily and she smirked, “don’t have to thank me,” she told her. As she wrapped her up, she hugged her back again rocking slightly as she pecked her cheek again. As she let go and moved to stand up, she said, “you have got to have something stronger,” jokingly.
Humming out contently, Robyn walked across the way to the kitchen and she let out a small laugh. “I do,” she told Jasmine as she moved for the fridge. Pulling the door open, she pulled out a bottle of wine that had yet to be opened. Closing the fridge, she held the bottle in her hand as she walked into the pantry. There she picked up a bottle of unopened Jameson before she moved back out to where Jasmine could see her. Gently, she clinked the two glass bottles against each other and said, “pick your poison,” with a tiny smirk.
Jasmine looked back watching Robyn as she moved around the kitchen and she smirked at her. When she offered her a choice she thought for a long time before she said, “wine is fine,” to her easily.
Robyn nodded at Jasmine with a small smile and she sat the bottles onto the island before she turned to her perfectly organized cabinets and opened one, grabbing a wine glass and a scotch glass. Closing the cabinet’s back, she moved to rinse both glasses out before she shook them out and sat them on the island. She opened a drawer and grabbed a wine opener, quickly popping the cork on the bottle before she poured Jasmine’s glass. Pushing the cork back into place, she sat the bottle aside as she opened the Jameson and poured herself some. She placed both bottles in the fridge now, sitting the wine back exactly where she got it from and the Jameson in an empty space that would now be its spot until the bottle was finished. She closed the fridge door and opened the freezer door, using the tongues hanging inside the freezer to pick up two cubes of ice. Turning back to the island, she plopped the cubes down into her glass.
Jasmine watched the woman make them glasses and she turned her eyes back to the boxes on the floor. She eyed them and wondered how long it took for her to do all of that packing for him, and she wondered where he was right now. And where her kids were as well. She checked her phone for her own babysitter before she sat it down against the couch again waiting for her to return.
Robyn returned the tongues to the freezer before she let out a hum, double checking the kitchen to make sure everything was in its proper place before she picked up the two glasses and moved for Jasmine. Sitting back down beside Jasmine on the couch, Robyn held the wine glass out to her as she took a sip from her own, letting the dark liquor slide down the back of her throat.
Jasmine watched Robyn as she entered the space once more and she licked her lips as she accepted the wine glass. She swirled the liquid around slowly before she took a sip of it thankfully. She looked at her and said, “where is he…” quietly, “and the kids?” curiously.
Robyn sipped down more of the brown liquor before she looked at Jasmine at the question. “I have no idea where he is,” she told the woman truthfully. “I dared him to bring his ass home…” she shrugged, “so he might still be at the office, trying to make nice with people after I outed him with my screaming,” she said, shrugging once more, “or he might be at the four seasons with that whore,” she said, taking another sip of her liquor. “The kids are at my best friend’s house, I had Willow take them over there so that she could go home,” she answered Jasmine easily.
Jasmine looked up at the ceiling taking another sip from the wine glass as she nodded her head taking in her words. She lowered the glass and looked at Robyn before she said “make sense” to her easily about the children. “Okay” she told her quietly as she sat the glass against her thigh as she looked at her “hm” she said not knowing what else to say.
Robyn nodded slightly as she sat her glass down on the coffee table, after snatching up a coaster from the small cubby of them sitting on the table as well. Sitting there, Robyn stared at Jasmine before she looked around at all of the boxes and she said bitterly, “I should Bernadine his ass,” she chuckled, “burn all of his shit.” Nothing about the situation was funny, but she had to make light of it or else she’d want to kill him.
Jasmine looked at Robyn and she shook her head, “you don’t mean that,” she told her gently. “What you did was right, packing it up,” she told her gently. “Anyhow,” she said softly as she took another sip of the wine before she said, “I have you all to myself now?” she asked.
Robyn looked at Jasmine and she bit her lip hard. She meant it a little. Nodding slightly, she shifted, tucking her legs under her on the couch. At the question, she reached for her glass once more and brought it to her lips, smiling behind it slightly. “You tell me,” she said softly before she took a sip.
Jasmine looked at her and she stole a coaster knowingly, sitting it down before she shifted closer to her. “Oh really?” she asked her as she pecked her lips, “so I have to give you the same treatment you gave me?” she asked her. “Make you swear not to see anyone else,” she said raising a brow at her as she pulled back gently and rested her hand on her head, pressing her elbow into the back of the couch.
Watching Jasmine grab a coaster, Robyn smirked slightly. The woman was learning quickly. Pecking Jasmine’s lips back, she hummed softly, wondering what she meant by that before she explained further, and she snorted. “I am a mother of three, I don’t think you have anything to worry about,” she said, shaking her head slightly. “Nobody but you is checking for me,” she said softly, shaking her head more.
Jasmine looked at her and said, “be quiet,” to her easily as she blinked slowly at her. “I’d prefer a promise,” she said, giving her a knowing look. “It wasn’t even a promise, it was you commanding me as to what not to do,” she told her. “I digress however,” she smirked cutely at her.
Robyn grew quiet as Jasmine told her to and she gazed at her, taking a sip from her glass. “Did I really?” she asked, chuckling softly. She knew that is exactly what she had done but it amused her to hear Jasmine say it. “I won’t see anyone else,” she said as she sat her glass back down on the coaster.
“Good,” Jasmine said to her as she sat her glass down and she cupped her face with her hand, kissing her deeply now. Pulling her closer to her now she hugged her to her as she deepened the kiss even more and she finally released her. She kissed down her jaw and against her neck sweetly. She pulled away from her and looked at her before she said sweetly, “lay with me.”
Smiling softly, Robyn began to feel all of the stress of knowing her husband was cheating on her melt away as she took Jasmine in. Sliding closer to the woman, Robyn allowed Jasmine to kiss her and she kissed back, smiling softly to herself. Her hand fell to Jasmine’s hip and she gripped the woman there until Jasmine broke their lip lock. Humming softly, she allowed her head to tilt back slightly as the woman kissed her neck. “I would love you,” she responded back in a whisper as she moved to stand up for just a moment, collecting the pillows off the couch and moving them onto the other. With that done, Robyn smiled at Jasmine before she smirked, “maybe we should lay downstairs, I don’t think we can both fit on this couch,” she chuckled a bit.
Jasmine watched Robyn as she got up from the couch and she licked her lips taking her round ass in from behind. Her eyes snapped up at the woman at her words and she said, “okay, sure,” easily to her as she moved to stand up from the couch slowly.
Catching Jasmine, Robyn smirked at her. “Just laying,” she said, wagging her finger at Jasmine sweetly before she took the woman’s hand and led her towards the staircase. Taking the stairs down, she moved through the hallway into the family room. Turning back, she looked at Jasmine with a smile as she led the woman towards the couch.
Looking at her with a raised brow, Jasmine said, “I am the one that suggested it,” to her with a head shake as she offered a hand to her. She grabbed the woman’s hand and moved with her and she said, “and, if I want to admire you I will,” she said cutely. “You can’t stop me from doing that,” she added as they made their way to the area that she wanted them to lie down in.
Chuckling softly, Robyn nodded her head at Jasmine and she said, “I suppose,” with a smile as she climbed into the couch, resting her body against the longer sectional and stretching her short limbs with a smile. She tossed her braids back, patting the spot beside her for Jasmine.
Jasmine looked at Robyn, pursing her lips a bit at her before the woman moved to rest on the couch. Laying out and she climbed on it, stretching out and resting her head on Robyn’s chest as she closed her eyes. Jasmine’s arm wrapped around the woman’s mid-section and she got comfortable for the nap she was surely about to take.
As Jasmine laid beside her, Robyn smiled her arm wrapping around the woman’s thick frame. As Jasmine’s eyes closed, she looked down at her and she pecked the woman’s lips softly before she closed her own. “What is your favorite color?” she asked, realizing that she really didn’t know much about the woman she was so enamored with.
Jasmine felt Robyn peck her lips however she didn’t move, though upon her question she did. She squeezed her tightly, didn’t she see that she was trying to take a nap? She answered her question and said, “yellow,” to her softly as she buried her face into her breast more.
Robyn chuckled softly, rubbing her hand up and down Jasmine’s side gently as the woman buried her face in her full breasts. She pulled Jasmine closer, letting out a content hum.
“What else?” Jasmine asked her knowingly as she opened her eyes, shifting her head closer to Robyn’s shoulder as she scooted closer to her for warmth's sake.
“What else?” Robyn asked Jasmine back, looking down at her with soft eyes. As Jasmine scooted closer to her, Robyn stretched slightly, reaching back to grab the blanket off the back of the couch. She laid it over them easily before she said, “how did you go from marketing to owning a salon? What made you do it?”
Jasmine snuggled up thankful for the blanket and she waited for the next question, she expected something more personal but nope. “Marketing was fun for a while,” she told her softly, “it was demanding though,” she added simply. “I guess…” she paused thinking about it for a long time. “I got pregnant with Juana and Kingston’s support awarded me the financial freedom to do something I’d always thought about,” she shrugged lightly. “Owning your own business gives you certain luxuries that working for someone does not, and I was mom... for the first time,” she smirked. “Wanted to make money in my sleep and cuddle up to my child everyday,” she chuckled lightly.
Listening to Jasmine, Robyn nodded slightly, looking down at the woman. She hummed with a small nod once more. “Do you want more kids?” she asked curiously looking up at the ceiling once more. Robyn was done with that part of her life. Three was enough.
“I always thought I would have more, at least one more,” Jasmine said reasonably. She didn’t know if that were ever going to happen or even possible in her very hectic and confusing life. But she had always pictured at least two children in her home.
“Mmm,” Robyn hummed out as her hand gripped Jasmine’s full hip and she shifted slightly, burying herself deeper into the couch. “You don’t have anything to ask me?” she wondered curiously.
“Sure,” Jasmine said to her easily, knowing that was coming and with her eyes closed still she spoke. “Why are you attracted to me?” she asked her simply, it was simple for Jasmine to ask though she was sure it wouldn’t be so simple for Robyn to explain.
At the question, Robyn pursed her lips slightly as she stared up at the ceiling now. She was quiet, just gathering her thoughts as she pulled her bottom lip into her mouth. “Just… dropping the hard-hitting questions first, huh?” she asked back, stalling as she really thought to herself. “Well… as you know, this is something very new to me. I…” she paused, clearing her throat, “I used to lie to myself and say that I wasn’t attracted to women but… I look…” she admitted, “and when it came to you… I just…” she shrugged slightly, “it felt different,” she licked her lips, shifting her eyes down to look at Jasmine. “I felt something…” she told the woman.
Jasmine listened to follow along with the woman’s words and she finally opened her eyes as at the tail end of her statement. She nodded her head against her and loosened her grip a bit, pushing hair back and out of her way. “What did you feel?” she asked her next as she closed her eyes caressing her side lovingly as she inhaled and exhaled evenly.
“Connection,” Robyn breathed out, her hand sliding from Jasmine’s hip to her arm, her fingers trailing up and down there. “I felt… comfort,” she answered further. “Solace?” she said, questioning herself a bit. “I just felt… like… maybe this was right,” she said looking at Jasmine lovingly, “and after Allison’s party, I was so scared but… I also felt so… liberated and… free… and that’s something I have never truly felt before...”
Jasmine opened her eyes again and looked up at Robyn with a smirk on her lips as the woman spoke. “Little old me?” she asked her playfully as she ran her down Robyn’s thick thigh, draping it over herself. “Truthfully,” she sighed, hating being completely honest and forthcoming sometimes “I had flirted with women, and maybe played around with them… a little. In the past. But… you are different,” she told her, agreeing completely with her.
Robyn looked away as Jasmine looked at her and she closed her eyes now, feeling extremely vulnerable as she smiled a bit, her dimples creasing. Draping her leg over Jasmine’s as she moved her limbs, she opened her eyes slowly, looking at her once more. A bit of jealousy rose within her and her nostrils flared slightly as she inhaled a breath. “How am I different?” she asked.
Jasmine looked at her and tilted her head at the woman slightly as she pressed her further on the subject. “What do you mean?” she asked her, playing dumb in the moment. “I don’t know,” she shrugged thinking about it to herself.
Robyn gazed at Jasmine, her lips pursed before she gently pulled her limbs from the woman, moving to sit up. “You don’t know?” she asked her, shocked that was the best that she could come up with. Brushing her hand through her braids, she pushed them back out of her face.
Jasmine looked at her as she shifted her body and she stitched her eyebrows together at her actions. “Where are you going?” she asked her confused as she shifted along with her, “you messin’ up the cuddling session here,” she pointed out, gesturing around them with her hand. “I do know, I don’t know how to put it in words,” she told her seriously. “Everything just feels different,” she said shrugging, “I didn’t feel like this with Kingston and we were engaged for a time...” she told her.
Robyn rested on her hand, her arm holding her body up as she stared at Jasmine. She listened to her, putting off answering, and she blinked at the woman before she actually began to answer. Biting her bottom lip softly, she listened to Jasmine and she nodded slowly. “You and Kingston were engaged?” she asked softly now.
“Yeah, in between his cheating and me forgiving him,” Jasmine said with an eye roll. “He cheated before Juana,” she said, “he cheated while I was pregnant with Juana,” she shrugged. “I accepted the proposal because well... You think marriage and a baby changes a person and it doesn’t,” she said shifting herself and laying back against the couch now.
Robyn nodded slowly as Jasmine spoke and she shifted slightly, just taking the information in. She completely understood where Jasmine was coming from and the thought process of changing a person or trying to at the least. Laying back down with the woman, Robyn turned into her side, facing Jasmine. “I’m sorry,” she said gently, tenderly stroking the bridge of Jasmine’s nose with her finger.
Jasmine looked at Robyn as she laid with her again, apologizing for no real reason. “It’s whatever,” she told her though Kingston and his cheating still affected her. Even now, him and this new woman bothered her especially considering the rings he gave her mere days ago. It didn’t make sense and since she could remember he toyed with her and her emotions.
Robyn leaned in and she pecked Jasmine’s lips before she returned to her position, growing quiet. She just gazed at Jasmine, taking the woman in before her eyes fluttered shut and she let out a deep sad sigh. “Now that I know for fact that he’s been cheating…” she said softly, “I’m sure he’s been doing it all along with different women over the years,” she said thinking it over before she shook her head slightly. “Men…”
Jasmine looked at Robyn as she rested there and her statement made a lot of sense to her. Again, once a cheater always a cheater in her book. She licked her lips and sighed, “men,” she repeated back to her as she closed her tired eyes once more, as they had been before.
Sighing out once more, Robyn pulled Jasmine close, meshing their full figures together before she closed her eyes as well, letting her head rest on Jasmine’s chest now. “What about Juana?” she asked softly, knowing that they would probably fall asleep like this.
Jasmine looked down at Robyn, now how did they end up like this? She was the one who wanted to use her like a pillow today. “What about her?” she asked her.
“Don’t you have to get home to her? Robyn asked curiously. As for her own kids, they were set to sleep over Iris’s for the night, with their bags packed. Iris would even take them to school for her in the morning.
Jasmine stretched her limbs a bit and she nodded her head. “Yeah,” she actually confirmed. “I do,” she told her not moving immediately after the words left her.
Nodding, Robyn nuzzled her face in Jasmine’s soft breasts as she laid her thick thigh over the woman’s leg, pulling her even closer. She hummed softly, getting comfortable. “When do you have to go?”
Jasmine popped one eye open and looked at the Rolex on her arm for a moment. “She’ll expect me to be back around closing time,” she voiced, “a few short hours,” she sang out as she got comfortable again. Moving her hands to Robyn’s round ass as she laid there.
Nodding, Robyn let out a hum as she gripped Jasmine’s hip. “That’s long enough,” she hummed out with a small smile.
Jasmine nodded her head. “Mhm,” she told her softly as she sunk down into the couch more. It gave her enough time to spread a few more with someone who was slowly becoming one of her favorite people outside of Juana, and take a much-needed nap; win, win.
