Seiko SSC017 Prospex Solar Stainless Steel Dive Watch
Our Opinion
The Seiko SSC017 is a step in the right direction adding it to the collection. The black face along with blue accents look stunning, reminiscent to that of a BMW logo. A big plus would be the chronograph and date layout, with the date just below the 4 o'clock. Also the Seiko SSC017 is a strong, durable feeling watch with a nice weight to it. A dislike would be the Hardlex widow, but for a piece like this it’s very understandable. Lumibrite really does a good job making the thick hands easy to identify at night or under water. Finally for us, the icing on the cake is the solar technology, said to last 6 months on one full charge.
Price, the Seiko SSC017 sells for around $425 MSRP, but for a steal we got our hands on one from Amazon.com for half that, just under $200 US.
