Did you know #newmexico had lava flows?? It has lava flows!!! http://ift.tt/2eQZ0Lt
Last day near #roswellnm We went into town, did all the obligatory UFO tourism, and then said goodbye to Lea Lake from above. On to Phoenix! http://ift.tt/2eHf9VV
This campground is GORGEOUS. Right outside of #roswell too. We've decided to spend an extra day here, rest, and get more work done. http://ift.tt/2eZosNJ
More camper improvements! So nice to be fixing up finally instead of breaking down. http://ift.tt/2dMteSE
After our wheel exploded in #kittanningpa earlier this month, we lost electricity capabilities. But we've finally managed to rig up a solution-- and fix our sink!! Yaaay! http://ift.tt/2f9t8FR

Last week we spend a wonderful, wonderful time actually seeing friends, old and new! Getting to prioritize friends & family is the best. http://ift.tt/2f5igsD
SPENDING TIME WITH FRIENDS IN #atlanta YAAAAY @libbietemple http://ift.tt/2e1T6ct
As we drive South, we try to appreciate the little bits of Fall we're out-running. This was the view that greeted us this morning. http://ift.tt/2dWzUem
And we're back! A bad tire blowout took out our wheel well, but we were able to replace the tire ourselves and send the camper to a repair shop. The people of #kittanningpa are very friendly and handy! http://ift.tt/2dIKbeq
Today we stopped by our storage unit and inexplicably found dry pasta in our Fall/Spring clothes. We have no idea how or why this is a thing. http://ift.tt/2cXgvaB
The trip so far, via instagram. I’ve wrangled it into cross posting from here on out, but if you prefer instagram, here we are.
1. Family reunion on my side, Traverse city, Michigan. Photo on Torch/Skegmog river in my parents’ boat.
2-3. Stop at cabin for a few weeks to fix up camper and work on big contract. Built in the late 1930′s by my great grandparents, the cabin started as a hunting cabin and has had several rooms, a loft and a separate garage added. Furnished mostly by hand me downs that are subsequently never moved, every corner is family history. (Seriously, 95% of the photos, furniture or nicknacks haven’t moved my entire life) Wish the old military jeep in the garage still ran, though!
4. Our little rat swarm gets to play in the grass while we clean their house. I love my rodents! Gloria, the albino rat, passed away at the cabin due to cancer. Glad her suffering is over, but I really miss her sitting in my sweater.
5. Head out East for a family vacation on Alana’s side, feat. the crazy packing job in our clown car. Pictured: Entire rat house. Not pictured: The cat, the bicycle, the amount of stuff crammed into the camper as well. Roof rack soon to come.
6-7. Arrival in Pohick, Virginia campground! Also, a fix for the door, which casually fell right off. Waterproofed some canvas and velcro’d it on. A good fix we wanted to do whether or not the original door fell off (to cover gaps between doors and keep bugs out).
8. Finally, some time in Washington, DC. While Alana’s family moved on to other museums, we stayed at Air and Space the entire time. (PS, that’s the Enterprise used to film the opening shot in TOS! Had the original stand, too. They also detailed the show’s history and cultural impact. Important.)
9-10. Last day we took a quick walk to see the monuments. Even if we’ve both been there previously, it’s a fun walk. Also, had to get a photo in front of the only time in history “hooray for politics” was not used sarcastically.
