Welcome to my E-Portfolio! As appears in the description above, this site will be a hub of academic learning. As I am currently a TA, this portfolio will hopefully document my experience in the process of learning to teach college composition. Here you will find resources for students and instructors, specifically targeted for the Florida International University ENC 1101 course.
Some information about me: I am currently a teaching assistant at Florida International University in Miami, pursuing an MFA in Poetry. I’m from North East, Maryland, a small town about halfway between Philadelphia and Baltimore. While studying English and Creative Writing at Washington College, I served as the Editor-in-Chief for the student-run literary magazine The Collegian, while also working with the Rose O’Neill Literary House as a Media Publications Intern for three consecutive years. I have screened poetry for The Summerset Review, as well as interned, again with The Rose O’Neill Literary House, in arts administration. I was a recipient of the Sophie Kerr Scholarship for four consecutive years, as well as becoming a finalist for The Sophie Kerr Prize, the largest undergraduate literary award in the world. I was also awarded the Jude and Miriam Pfister Poetry Prize for my poem “Portrait of Boy Dancing” during my senior year. My work has been published in South Florida Poetry Journal.
