Hi there! I'm writteninblack from AO3 & K'sChoiceofAFI from FFN (she/they, black & Indigenous, married, has AuDHD & OCD), and somehow I talked myself into getting a fandomish account. It's mostly a way to keep up with any friends I make along the way while writing fic. Thanks for reading, and come say hi if you'd like!
Need some motiv-ocean to leap into the weekend? You got this!
Leaping blennies are amazing amphibious fish. They can launch themselves off rocks and into the air sometimes up to 50 times their body length. Not only do they flash their red dorsal fins to communicate, but they can also live on land temporarily in tidepools and rocky coasts.Ā
These extraordinary terrestrial fish shore do know how to make a splash, both in and outside the water!
korra going back to occasionally using a wheelchair as she gets older and gets more frequent flare ups of chronic pain and fatigue. korra using her bitching motorized wheelchair that her lovely wife made custom just for her. it can go so fucking fast and itās not road safe, not even a little bit.
"Get up, inmate," Galpin says gruffly. "Youāre getting a change in living quarters."
From her seated position on the cold cinderblock floor, she manages to look him up and down as her lips curl back in a sneer. Her eyes appear sunken, listless. Her voice scrapes across the cinderblock floor before reaching his ears, hoarse and coarse from disuse. "Iād rather not."
"You donāt get a say, Addams." His stance widens in preparation for a fight. "Are you gonna come willingly, or no?"
"No."
His eyes shut in resignation. "I was afraid youād say that." He reaches for the walkie-talkie on his shoulder and radios for backup.
In the end, it takes five peopleāone who breaks a limb, and the other who dislocates their kneeāto wrangle her into handcuffs behind her back.
Even then, she contorts her arms upward and over her head to bring her hands before her and, no oneās sure how, but another officer dislocates their shoulder before they pick her up off the ground to carry her out of solitary confinement like pallbearers.
Sheās dropped into her new cell. The next thing she hears is the loud sound of metal rubbing against metal. It wakes neighboring inmates who grumble and curse the officerās name.
The other person in the cell rouses awake amongst the rustling. She sits up with disheveled shoulder length hair and a stretched shirt that hangs off one shoulder. She yawns as she wipes at her eyes, takes one look at her, and just says, "Howdy. New bunkie?"
Her eyes widen in shock and disbelief. She doesnāt even turn around to view the other person in the room. "I do not belong here," she says firmly. The bars cast shadows on her face, and she grabs them as she glares at the officer. "Put me back in solitary."
"No can do," is all he says as he walks away. "You play nice there now, Addams."
She seethes in anger as he walks away. "If you think I gave you hell before, wait until you incur my wrath the next time I am in your vicinity without these bars separating me from you, Galpin."
"Shut the fuck up!" someone yells from several cells away.
Murderous eyes shift to the direction the voice came from. "I donāt know who said that, but rest assured, I will find out; and you will rue the day I do."
The other occupant in the cell rises from the bed, wiping sleep from her eyes. "Hey, you okay?" she asks. "Iām Enid." She shrugs. "Or Sinclair, since thatās what the guards call us."
She slowly turns to face her and backs into a corner of the cell before sliding to the floor and staring into nothingness.
Enid takes a step closer. "And you are? Addams, right?" she repeats.
