Very Autistic About Ezra Squall

Artist, and occasional fic writer. Massive Nevermoor hyperfixator, Silverborn is finally here and we can all rejoice. I have an entire Ezra Squall Redeption Arc written in my mind, and I will write it if it doesn't happen in cannon because I am unhinged. I will ramble about it forever if given the opportunity. Hopeing to get some inspiration from the community for some fanart because I love this series so much!

find it funny that people in nevermoor were like "ooh squall and morrigan they could be allies" like be so fucking for real. squall is a 130 year old man do grown ass adults not understand that he has way more power than her? aren't they concerned that he could potentially manipluate her rather than scapegoating a 13 year old child? it's really nonsenical when you think about, if you're ignorant of the dynamic of their relationship, your first thought should be - he could be a genuine threat to her and he could be a negative influence, not "a 13 year old child could bring terrible things to nevermoor and bring back ezra squall!". gosh propaganda runs deep in these people and i blame wunsoc. child abuse is really normalised in nevermoor, not that it isn't in our modern world as well but damn.

Drawing I did last year when for a brief period of time the funniest thing in the world to me was the idea of Ezra playing monopoly over the gossamer. I think he’d like it but say he hates it cause he keeps losing.

Continuing my efforts to explore the reality that Jupiter is a dog person raising two cat children, I think Jupiter would adore camping and Jack and Morrigan would abhor it.

Jupiter, probably: I’m sorry that I’ve been off world for the better part of the month, Moggers. But I’ve been thinking… What if we go on a little camping trip together, huh? Just the three of us around a roaring fire.

Jupiter North does not know how to sing

My reasoning:

Jupiter absolutely knows how to dance

If Jupiter could both sing and dance he would be too powerful

Therefore, Jupiter, at this point, cannot sing. He can be taught to sing but when he reaches this power level there will be no stopping him, because he will be very good at it

I feel like there’s potentially a very wide spectrum to consider when discussing whether or not a person “can sing” in the world of Nevermoor.

Morrigan is a girl with a terminal illness who survived past her death date and tries to find a place in a world she thought she wouldn't get to properly experience, Jupiter has to hide and mask symptoms to keep his job, Jack and Jupiter both have/had to use eyepatches as an accessibility tool, Hawthorne has ADHD, Cadence had to fight tooth and nail for accommodations with a more invisible disability.

Do you get it? It's all about disability

ezra sees himself in jupiter in a way that jupiter is his past self, a well recognized and celebrated member of the wundrous society. he obviously envies the feeling of being loved by nevermoorians, but jupiter is also a reminder to him that if he would have stayed in the society, they would also abuse his knack for their advantage.

jupiter sees himself in ezra in a way that ezra is what he could become if he had lost the support of the society and the league. if he would lost the hotel’s staff and all of his society siblings. he obviously condemns ezra’s actions, but can’t think about how free felt after he had left the society.

they are each other’s foil, i can’t not think about them in this way
