It's amazing that I am so obsessed with how many hours it takes you to respond to me and how I send so many things to you throughout the day, but the minute you respond to me non-chalantly makes me so vicerally angry.
“I could follow you to the beginning Just to relive the start Maybe then we’d remember to slow down At all of our favorite parts All I wanted was you.”
I hope you will miss me for the rest of your life. I hope that will be the only thing we will have in common.
As the saying goes, April showers bring May flowers so what better time to share this beautiful table of classes from Conversations on Botany (1817). Originally attributed to Jane Marcet, the volume is now recognized as co-authored by Irish sisters Elizabeth and Sarah Mary Fitton. Illustrated with 20 hand-colored plates, Conversations on Botany is composed as a series of conversations between a mother and son about the principles of the Linnaean system of classification and elements of useful botany. Notably, the volume went through nine editions between 1817 and 1840 and is credited with furthering women’s interest in botany.
A true feast for the eyes, you can view all of the plates on our Digital Collections site.
