so jeongmin’s parents are son hayoung who is a Very high-achieving guardian fairy.. she’s a light fairy who was a stand-out both in bloodline And in ability .. his dad, kwak minsung, was a highly-decorated military figure who had ancestors who helped defend the barrier during the great betrayal
to say that expectations were high for their first child is an understatement.. like everyone expected them to have the next up-and-coming Perfect winx
and then jeongmin is born !! and his mom is honestly p upset w this turn of events, tho his dad is kinda hoping he’ll be more of His successor
he’s neither.. very bookish child who doesn’t talk a lot, and just takes all of his mother’s demands in stride.. doesn’t seem to be a promising military leader bc he doesn’t really have the aggression, and his mother always says he’s not gonna be her successor either
his parents give him private lessons basically right after school ends, so he spends his days in the east going to school and straight home
kids hear about his parents’ reputation and then see this kid who doesn’t talk to anyone and just like .. ignores his peers ?? so they create this idea that he’s really stuck-up and rude.. but honestly jeongmin just thinks he doesn’t have the time to devote to social stuff.. like he’s got a mom to impress yknow..
and jeongmin knows he’s never gonna be the child his mother wants, but he also is Aware that he’s brought a lot of embarrassment by being born, and he wants his parents to have a nice time without problems
so he just does what his mom asks of him and keeps his head down.. he enrolls in uni to follow as his dad orders, but his mom ends up withdrawing him to go to sma at 22.. she wants her lineage to still continue despite her futile attempts at having a perfect winx daughter
and so jeongmin obviously gets in to be a specialist bc he’s more than qualified, but he ultimately ends up going the route of Combat Specialist, which no one really sees coming.. n might be the first steps to him being someone apart from what his family wants him to be/boxes him to be !!
he’s a very quiet, contemplative guy... won’t give u much trouble ... gets tired socializing.. but he’s also just someone trying to grow out of his shell n be his own person !

an old childhood rival bc of family drama ? whether or not the two of them are actually invested in this rivalry is up to u but.. someone who has always followed jeongmin in life n then is also expecting the rivalry to continue into the academy !
a friend of his who encourages his growth, encourages him to speak his mind.. someone who gets to see the sides of him he otherwise wouldn’t show ?? but they would definitely have to be willing to chip away at him for awhile hh
