some sketchy bar in the city
dec 2020
It was ridiculous that he wasn’t allowed to smoke inside, getting told by a bartender to put his cigarette out. If he wasn’t smoking, then he needed a drink instead. Having to tell his sister that he was her brother took a lot out of him in the sense that he just needed a distraction. Sitting at the bar, Wes turned towards the nearest patron. “Never got from this place before. What’s their best drink?”

There was something unsettling about getting the “divorce” as an adult talk from a man who wasn’t actually your father. Did he care that Reina and Ant weren’t together anymore? Not really. The only thing that mattered to him was where it leaves him when the family at the top unravels. He’s texting Izzy to meet him here, because there’s nothing better than her to pull him out of his head, when he notices the man beside him for the first time.
“Fuck if I know,” he says, nodding to the rocks glass in front of him. “I just get Jamison neat and call it a day. You looking for something fruity or what?”
