Looking at her with a determined look, he wasn’t going to back down. He wasn’t, and Soobin knew this; Her bottom lip was jutting out as if she had already accepted the fact of it all but was still trying her best to be difficult, (which was definitely a trait that could be associated with the girl.) She Seemed to realize her defeat after some moments of unwavering distress crossing on her face. Annoyed, and probably feeling a bit of frustration with herself; but Jinsoo himself was quietly grinning in content at his own victory as he hummed quietly to himself in a victorious tune before she had seemed to grown annoyed of this action and pressed her finger to his forehead and pressed him back by his forehead–causing him to stumble back before he furrowed his eyebrows and clicked his tongue.
The act of him trying to seem mad was completely crumbled and disintegrated to nothing after she quietly quoted him on something he had said to her years ago when the two of them hated each other and he couldn’t help but smile in a silent chuckle to himself as she opened the door and let the two of them in into the room. Watching her actions as she was in her own environment, he quietly studied her from behind. It was a bit weird so he tended to do these things when she didn’t notice him. It was well known by almost everyone (If not Anne herself) That Xav had feelings for her too, so he was always quite a bit softer for her– giving in easily to her without much else needed to direct him. When she turned back to him, it was evident that he was already watching her and so all he did in response was slightly raise his eyebrows in curiosity of what she was going to do next.
Being motioned over– he moved to her side and sat down, snorting softly at the way that Anne had flopped down on the couch and relaxed back into its cushioning beside him– moving the laptop over to him and he quietly looked over the contents of the screen curiously for some seconds in silence before Soobin because talking and droning in his ear on the side; he wondered if there was a part of her that was nervous deep down with how she was speaking. He let her speak– Honestly, he wasn’t against the idea, he would have agreed right away but he did like the way he could see her brain working on end in thought as she had planned everything from start to finish it seemed. “Tsk, Are you saying I’m an alcoholic?” he questioned now, jokingly– the curve of his mouth twitching as he fought back a sort of laugh at this.
Listening to her continuing on, he finally let that smile crack through, snorting softly as he listened, pausing from his fixture on the computer screen as he looked up to her curiously enough to watch her expressions as she spoke– she was always rather animated and he enjoyed watching her be dramatic; he always chocked it up to her being a theater student that she was like this; Drama was her life, Drama WAS Soobin. This was further reinforced by the way that she continued to talk and he couldn’t help the quiet laugh that left him in response to her words as she continued speaking more and more.
To further this act of display, she had begun patting her own head when he didn’t reply to her actions fast enough–giving her own self a semblance of good work and before he could continue she was rambling again; She did this when she was nervous. She was nervous. His smile widened more once again and he quietly sat back into the couch at her actions before humming softly as if he was thinking. “Youre so…” he started before sighing as if he was annoyed. the word he was looking for was ‘Cute.’ But he didn’t utter that aloud, Soobin didn’t need any more boosts to her ego. “You know, Soobin,” he started, looking up at her with a wide grin–finding this all funny. “I was already going to say yes before you did all this extra work.” he teased her now, snorting softly to himself before humming.
“That sounds fun, I don’t mind it.–” he started before his eyebrows quirked slightly, “And it DOES sound like good pay back for avoiding me and having me think I had done something wrong for some days.” he sort of said this like he was scolding her, but listening to everything now, he couldn’t help but let all of those things subside from his list of things to care about.
"I appreciate that you went to such lengths for me though–“ he added in, laughing some more as he looked back down to the computer screen and continued to eye it over once more. "Especially since my birthday is still some time away, you’re really thinking here.” he murmured softly– he was honestly feeling a bit touched about the action but he wouldn’t ever say it that bluntly; this was enough as it was. “We’ll count this as something for YOUR birthday though, because with you avoiding me– we never got a chance to do things for you.”
there was no cure to her foot-in-mouth syndrome, she knew that -- and though it wasn’t terminal, sometimes she wished it was. it was kind of embarrassing. anne always had the habit of running her mouth in times it wasn’t exactly necessary and most of the time, it was caused by nerves. in the beginning, this seemed like the most brilliant plan in the whole world and that she was an absolute genius- but looking back at it, it was a bit. extra. it probably would’ve been easier to ask xzavier upfront to go on the trip with her anyway since she knew he’d probably say yes ( he always does ) - but anne didn’t see any fun in that.
she opened her mouth her mouth in expectancy to reply with some witty retort but instead was met with a scoff, raising a hand to playfully hit at his shoulder as she spoke through her laughter. "No, stop, that’s not what I meant -- “ xav always had a knack for putting words into her mouth whether she’d actually meant them or not ( the latter, in this case ), but so did she- each time made in jest. her laughter died down and he began to speak again; she perked up in her spot, back straightened as she peered over to gauge his response -- almost akin to a puppy: wide eyed and laying in wait.
anne hadn’t worried much about xav saying yes or no - his lax demeanor and quirked lips were telling enough that she’d done something right, even with her.. unorthodox methods. his smile seemed to have done the trick in diminishing the weight in her stomach and slowly, she released a breath she didn’t even know she’d been holding ( only hoping that it wasn’t obvious ). xav’s approval was enough to warrant a squeal from the girl before he had even finished his sentence, shoulders visibly relaxing and hands clapping together rather happily to his agreement. anne turned over on the couch to face him, legs coming up on the cushion to criss-cross as she reached to take the computer from his lap to close and slip back into her bag, a wide grin on her lips as she turned her attention his way again.
“Maybe you would have said yes- but that would’ve taken all the fun out of all the set up. Besides, I already said I was sorry for avoiding you, didn’t I?” except, she didn’t- but it was close enough. lips were stretched into a wider grin and anne couldn’t hold back a laugh; it was always funny to her that between the two of them, she was older yet it was her that always got scolded. not that it was anything to complain about, since most of the time it was well-deserved, anyhow..
“And don’t say that like you’re surprised, you know I’d do anything for you anyway so.. it’s no problem.” she was calmer now, the progression of her words softening as anne’s gaze dropped to her lap and a shoulder lifting into a small shrug while the tips of her ears felt as if they’d burn off any moment -- she’d just hoped they weren’t sticking out from her hair or for sure he’d have noticed. he notices everything ( short of the fact that just maybe anne’s words rang true in more ways than one- or of the extent of how much she actually felt for him. maybe not that ).
for those few seconds, she felt a bit awkward- as if she changed the atmosphere by a fraction because anne decided to act like a blushing school girl. a clear of her throat followed her looking back up and clasping her hands together, a wide grin taking its place back on her lips before she began again in a totally non-embarrassed, sing-song tone. “But anyway -- That’s fine. Your birthday gift to me would be you having a good time; that means you’re not spending a dime -- so consider this a.. joint gift. I’ve worked enough this past week to have everything covered.
“I was just thinking, y’know.. we could go in the middle of the day and do some sight-seeing.. go out to eat or something and spend the night at the nearby hostel. I know I only have you to myself for two days so I just decided that- on the second day- we’d go on the last day of the festival since those are always more fun, y’know?”
