the prince continued to look out at the water rising and crashing, letting the sounds of the ocean wash over him as his sister spoke, “peaceful. yes.. but peaceful is boring,” pulling his eyes away from the ocean he forced himself to look at his sister, “listen i know you’re happy to be away from that circus, i’m happy for you too, but this is just... not real.. it’s stagnation.” he looked back out at the water, and laughed, “who would have thought i would get tired of endless partying with no consequences?”

the prince gave his older sister a sidelong glance, and shrugged. xander was of the opinion that the only thing worse than being the youngest child, is being the youngest child of a royal family. he took a final drag off his joint, now only a roach, and flicked it towards the water. “i think grumpy is an understatement, sis. i mean, it was fun at first, but half these people have a stick up their ass. i’m getting serious cabin fever. you mean to tell me you’re perfectly happy with our present situation?”

xander sat on the beach and looked out at the water. he was smoking a joint, it was something he had grown accustomed to doing often since being forced to come here by his parents. he was lucky that he had smuggled in a large stash, or he’d have gone mad by now. listening to the waves crash, and watching the smoke billow in front of him as he exhaled, he thought about how he was basically last in line, xander didn’t see why he needed to be sequestered on this godforsaken island. for the first couple weeks it was fun, party after party, new exciting people, but the prince was growing bored. he was lost in his thoughts, when he noticed he was no longer alone. words tumbled from his mouth without even looking to see who had joined him, “what? you looking to take a drag?”
