Who knew bedroom decorations are so hard to find?
I didn’t, that’s for sure. I’ve been struggling with my bedroom interior for a while now. Because I want to keep it calm – a good night sleep is one of the most important things in life after all – but I also want it cozy. Make it not look like a doctor’s office with all the whites, if you know what I mean. Anyhow, of course I’ve been strolling around Pinterest to get some ideas. And I’d like to share them with you:
They’re not only comfortable, they look good as well. You can either go all out with prints or go for a cute color like pastel pink. I’m a big fan of the urban jungle banana leaf kinda trend, but am also into black and white. The result: chaos. So make sure you pick one color scheme and don’t go all out. Keeping the calm.
I hate light. Not that I’m a vampire – ha ha – but I really dislike bright lights so lighting is an important subject for me. I always go for lightbulbs with as less watt’s as possible – around 6 or less I think. And I like cute lampshades, made out of tinted glass or bamboo for example.
They’re fun ánd functional. And not because it alliterates so so good. At the moment I’m thinking either vintage chair as nightstand, a small wooden table or two of those iron ones you can slide over each other. O, and I also saw this cute version of a hexagon shaped book shelf attached to the wall.
And when you have a cute nightstand, you can decorate it with plants! At least one of them, if your bedroom is as small as mine. Again: fun and functional, because plants give you oxygen and you need that at night. Did you know a pineapple plant is one of the few plants that eject oxygen at night? Must have!
Because one picture says more than a thousand words, right? Pictures give your room a story, like someone actually lives there. But beware: if you go for multiple, be sure to pick one color scheme – yes, like with the pillows – or else it’ll create a chaotic look.
Not into al lot of stuff in the bedroom and rather keep it squeaky clean? No worries, there’s still an option to make your room less sterile: color the wall. I’d recommend one, if you’re going for a shade different then white. But have your own party! My favorites? Pastel pink or camouflage green.
