Disappeared for a few weeks—where did I go?

Some Cat Sketch Study

capturing the essence of a cat: hexagonal face, short nose bridge, small nose, not-too-thick chin, big eyes, and large round-tipped ears.

1. My friend’s cat, DING DING Its weirdly cute pose and camera angle were just too irresistible—I had to draw it!

2. iPad Drawing Practice: The mosaic part was drawn by me, but I didn’t finish the outer area… so I just patched it up with the original reference image. (lazy🤫

3. iPad Sketch Practice: I really enjoy drawing animals—maybe because it helps me avoid the tough job of drawing human faces and bodies haha🤣. It’s just too easy to mess up the proportions.

“It is said that in the far western realms, there exists a cursed fruit. Though it is born as twins, it still yearns to become whole once again.”

—Lovers parted, bound by separation

Before the fruit ripens, it remains seamless. Once fully mature, the ringed stem breaks away from the tree—one half bearing the seed, the other left empty. Thus, the “twin-born fruit” comes into being.

The seedless half, its stem curling into a natural ring, is forged into iron by local custom and fashioned into a pendant. When struck, it vibrates like a tuning fork, and if held to the ear, one can hear faintly, as if from a seashell—the distant call of the “Seed.”

The seed-bearing half, however, is easier to find, for the “Seed” itself longs for reunion, a desire that cannot be hidden. Yet the twin-born, cursed fruit is not eternal. As time passes, the seed will wither and shrink.

According to ancient tradition, if lovers or kin, separated by great distances, make a wish while holding the fruit, their desire to reunite will be granted. But should they meet again, they must rejoin the two halves and plant the fruit. Only then will their bond remain unbroken for good.

Knight Sketch Special

I casually grabbed a scrap piece of paper and started sketching a knight.

It turned out surprisingly well, and I felt it would be a waste to just throw it away, so I cut it out and pasted it into my sketchbook.

Some kind of magic happened🧙—it looks even better now, and I like it even more, haha!

So I ended up looking for more knight references and kept practicing, and it became a full "Knight Special" page!♞

But I'm still not good enough to casually draw a pretty girl yet, haha. I really wish I had the skills to nail beautiful facial features!🎇 Looks like I need to put in a lot more practice with portraits!

The ink brush is very suitable for drawing hair, and can create some very natural white gaps (negtive space).

When drawing hair, always remind myself to pay attention to the direction of growth being free and flowing.

Most of the cool reference I saw on Pinterest now turn out to be AI-generated. Not sure if I should feel amazed and excited… or a little bummed.🙃 - Also: My sketchbook has entered the era of marker pen! (level-up sound effect~) Still learning—just using them for shading for now 😆

Daily sketch, even during electrotherapy

I like to record my daily life in this way of sketching. It can improve my line art skills and expand my visual database. 👀

However, in my country, if you secretly observe and sketch strangers, you would be worried about being mistaken for a pervert. 🤣

Short story: I donated blood for the first time last month. Just as I was about to take out my sketchbook and start drawing—

Nurse: “Since it’s your first time, you can only donate 250cc, so it’ll be over really quickly. Not much time to draw! Hmm… the veins in your left arm aren’t very visible. Okay—give me your right arm instead.”

Me: “Oh… ohhh, okay.” (Crap… she actually sealed my right hand… got interrupted… nice try.)

Cicada and Ant colony

Hello, Tumblr. it's my first post. 👋 I bought an iPad and started learning digital painting in 2024. When I was exploring the Procrete brush, I was attracted by the ink material of this brush. Unconsciously, the orange was drawn into an insect, and finally add a line to represent an ant colony. I am very pleased with this painting! short story: The mark on the lower right corner is just like when the carbon powder from your thumb accidentally gets on the canvas during traditional painting. lol🤣
