—- More than ever before, he slept soundly. Coffee or the stresses of actually having to do work in Stamford had been keeping him up even more than usual, the bags under his eyes darkening and darkening by the day. But this was different, an unexplained relief, as he woke up for once refreshed in Pam’s hold. It took a second for him to actually register that his eyes were open and he had left his dream state,
for the images he saw before him were almost identical within his unconscious.
At first he just remained in the same position as he thought it might mean he could hold the woman for longer. Just pretend to be asleep, he thought, but soon he grew restless and lifted his head from Pam’s shoulder.
"Yeah, I’m awake.
Sorry ‘bout falling asleep on you, there.”

Shifting, the young receptionist simply nuzzled a little deeper into the man's chest, before siting upright-- cheeks brushing, and a little smile creeping it's way up onto her lips. Yeah, it felt nice to be with him like this, even though she knew that he probably didn't feel the same way. "You okay, though? You seemed kind of... beat out."
