20190726 - Havana Bar, Wellington, New Zealand: 

I remember sitting next to this really drunk girl (who was a vet!) and she asked me what I did. My practicing certificate hadn't come through yet, and there's this conduct rule that you're not allowed to call yourself a lawyer until you have your certificate. So I kind of er, um, and try to explain that I do law but can't call myself a lawyer. And she stops me and goes, "Did you go to law school?!" Yes. "And did you pass the bar exam!?" Well, it's not really a bar exam in NZ but I guess. And she yells, "So you're a lawyer! That was hard work and you should have confidence in your accomplishments! Fuck yeah, smart people!!" She was very, very drunk but a lot of fun to talk to.
