Camo MC at Electric Avenue

So good to finally see one of my home city chch 03's top Emcee's live. Being as busy as I am, I'm often working when all the raves, gigs and parties are happening. So it was cool to have the opportunity to give my take on what emceeing can look like through a lens and people can see the world that I see. Tiki Tane at Electric Avenue

Every half a year or so Tiki Tane graces Christchurch with a performance. He’s one of the nicest dudes in the music industry. A generally chill dude. Being apart of this music industry I hear everything but I never hear a bad thing about Tiki. He always treats others with respect and is sincerely passionate about music.

Got to check out covers band The Cassetts playing at Christchurch bar Micky Finn's the other weekend. If you ever wanna hear a classic song from Fleetwood Mac, The Black Keys, or Pink Floyd and more sung right! come on down to there next show at the closest tavern near you.

Arcadian a few Months Back

So a few months back the boys from Arcadian got me to take photos for them at the Churchills little did we know this would be the last time that they would play there. This city has had a slowly dwindling music scene for those who enjoy music of the heavier persuasion. The disappearance of venues in Christchurch is directly related to the national governments mishandling of the rebuild of Christchurch after the earthquakes. We now only have one venue The Darkroom for bands to play and perform at on a regular basis. How can Christchurch bands like Arcadian flourish in a city so culturally inept at providing real entertainment and arts of a regular basis for it's citizens.

Acacia Woods | Open Mic Night 4 Youth | 9.12.16

So just a little update for you guys. After having a show I was gonna be taking photos be cancelled I got offered to take photos at White Elephants first open mic night for youth. Which really well for there first show allowing young emcees to get out there and represent themselves in the local youth hip hop scene. These events will be held once a month and look like to be a regular thing for me. The rest of the photos will be up on White Elephants page sometime this week.

Live in the Park 2016

Hey guys's after a we delay our photos from Live In The Park 2016 are online.

With our photos we try this year we tried to give them more of a film look comparable to late 90's early 00's UK concert photos. I think for the most part we have achieved that. This year has been a pretty turbulent year just after the show my new computer gave out so I had to borrow another which wasn't as powerful, so I had to choose between photos or video footage to edit and get out first. Seeing as I don't do as much video as I want to do I opted to do video first and than the photos. A big thanks to One Camera Photography for taking photos some of which are part of this collection.

Deceive The Sky | A return to black and white.

It's been a while since I've focused on just black and white photos but I thought for this series I'd remove the colour from the world. What I love about black and white photos is they remove any distraction from the image. You are only focused on what is show and what is not presented in the image. A kind of binary image in many ways.

Announcing The Exhibition Collective.

So today we are launching The Exhibition Collective a youtube channel that I have been planning and working on in the background for a we while now. This project is a film and photo collaboration by like minded individuals based in Christchurch New Zealand. We will be doing all kinds of videos on this youtube and it's 2nd channel as well as reviews and discussion videos relating to film and production. So today I was supposed to have put up the photos from the festival as well as video or two but that's not happening now till probably the end of this weekend as my new mac mini decided to stop turning on, so whilst that's away for repair I'm borrow a less powerful Macbook Pro. You need to come check these guys out if you live in Christchurch or just a little further abroad. They've got something about them. I don't know what it is exactly maybe its the vocals, maybe it's the arrangements but it's something special and should be witnessed.

Shapeshifter at Horncastle Arena

This is my second time photographing these guys. Really was a mad dash to edit these photos so quickly to put them out the next day. I should put up a video of what goes into editing my photos so people can get an understanding of the effort I put into my art. Anyways it was a fun gig and these guys are fantastic to see live. I hope this New Zealand band becomes even bigger in the international music world. I'd also like to thank Radio Hauraki for giving me the opportunity to take photos on behalf of them.
