Before this year ends, and after we celebrated my birthday with some of my friends last 29th of this month, I just want to take this chance to thank the people who all crossed the ebbs and the flows of life with me. Friends. Family. Relatives. Loved ones. Co-workers. You all made this year really awesome despite of the intricacies and hardships that I faced. To the Lord Almighty, who remained faithful though I'm not, my gratefulness to You cannot be contained. My take on Cinemalaya 13

These are the points about my take on this year's Cinemalaya full length films. "Ang Pamilyang di Lumuluha" catered both entertainment and realization that no family's complete and perfect. "Nabubulok" points out that the system of criminal justice in the Philippines is also decaying. "Baconaua" is a story about a sea serpent and how it is associated with all the mysterious things happening in the island it's nearby. "Kiko Boksingero" narrated a boy who's will is to follow the footsteps of his Father, he then, became attached to Him, hoping that his Father will soon realized that he's worthy of his care, until one day this hopes just gone. "Bagahe" is a story of an OFW who brought baggage of cruelty within her going home. "Ang Guro kong di Marunong Magbasa" dive into the challenges children on the remote places experiencing the lack of education and the only choice left to them is to join the rebellion. "Requited" tells a story of an ailing biker who needs to fulfill his last trip and that is to let go of someone. "Sa Gabing Nanahimik ang mga Kuliglig" tells not just the forgiveness of sin but the consequences from it you should not run away. "Respeto" digs deep of the truth that history repeats itself and what happens today are just versions of yesterday's events. All the films are very compelling, has substance and social relevance. You might not get the technical achievements you want in a film but they are artistically made and the executions are realistic. Of all the films I have watched there, "Respeto" literally earned my respect as my choice of this year's Best Film. The next on the top of my choice are on the list, I hope this matters to you; 2. Nabubulok 3. Kiko Boksingero 4. Bagahe 5. Ang Pamilyang di Lumuluha 6. Sa Gabing Nanahimik ang mga Kuliglig 7. Requited 8. Baconaua 9. Ang Guro kong di Marunong Magbasa I believe, there's no worst film, it's just that every film has its own apt audience. The list are just my expression of how each film struck me and delivered its message to me as an appropriate spectator. Thank you for reading.

Just watched the uncut Seklusyon 😁 Congrats to the whole team! -- It is indeed unlike any other film's screenplay and undoubtedly why it is highly acclaimed technically.
