A Medically Accurate Analysis of the ROTTMNT Movie - Masterpost

With the help of an ER Nurse with multiple years in her field, this is a Masterpost for an analysis on the Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie on what their injuries would be were the movie seen through a realistic lens. These injuries were figured out through hours of research into the movie and injuries that could come from certain attacks, and were proofread by an EMT who said it was accurate.

This post is dedicated to the angst lovers, artists, and writers out there who enjoy being realistic or accurate in their depictions of injuries and ailments. This is for you <3

DISCLAIMER: Injuries are impossible to accurately predict, as this is both in a fictional setting and the fact that the same event could give different injuries to different people depending on many, many factors. These are theories.

Analysis Rules - ROTTMNT Medically Accurate Analysis

The ‘rules’ for this analysis are fairly simple, but will be necessary when reading over the character posts.

The characters are not to die. Every injury they get, with their mutant biology taken into consideration, they must be realistically able to survive with for the duration of the movie and a bit longer.

The only injuries counted are ones during battles with a serious atmosphere. Injuries gained from, say, jumping from a high ledge in a joking scene, or the Warren and Hypno fight, will not be counted. It won’t make much of a difference in the end.

Spinal, neck, and brain injuries that would result in paralysis, death, or brain damage severe enough that it would impair the character’s ability to function (eat, speak, breathe, etc.), are all off limits. The characters must be fit enough to enjoy the pizza scene (the ‘grabbing a slice’ scene) in the same way they do in the movie. If they’re permanently injured to where the pizza slice scene would be impossible given their physical status, the selected injuries must be retconned in some sense, or altered to a milder version that would still be accurate to an extent.

This doesn’t mean they’ll walk out unscathed. The pizza scene could take months or years to happen post-Kraang, and likely does given how New York has been repaired at that time. A lot of healing can be done in those months, and thus: a lot of injuries can be had.

Every injury must be accurate. A character cannot have a broken arm without an attack that would reasonably give it. This goes for the reverse too, a strong blow must have a realistic consequence.

Each injury gained must be accompanied with a timestamp of the movie and simple description of what caused said injury.
