She shook her head. Him and that job were inseparable. Not that she could rightly judge him on that because she herself had been married to death for the past few years. “Well, I didn’t mean you had to dedicate them to me, but I do appreciate the thought. I just want you to take it easy on yourself. You need to relax and get your mind off some of the shit that happens in this town,” she said. Being here with him like this was one of her reprieves from her own mind, but she wanted him to do what was best for him to recoup. However, she would be more than happy to give him a fix of her if that’s what he desired.
"I’ll find a happy medium,” he said with a shrug. “Maybe I’ll take up golf, coerce Sam into joining me and hopefully not see Dad, treat Mom to dinner or something.” He closed his eyes and nuzzled the side of her neck. He was exhausted, but he did want to bask in the closeness. He did want to get the house started as soon as possible, namely so they had a place of their own as opposed to two separate homes, one to which she’d promised not to go. “I do want a lot of us time and house planning time, though.”
