❝Fake smiles can’t hide sad eyes.❞
six word story sentence starters
❝ i have learned over time that most do not look into the eyes of a royal. most do not even glance up from the ground, as it has somehow become disrespectful to engage in eye contact. as if that isn’t disrespectful in itself.
most will not look at me. they fear my abilities, and though my kingdom respects me as a ruler, i am still a woman, and i still fight for my position on this throne. i hear delegates speak trash of my father, pollute his name because he did not give a proper heir. they bear ill will on my mother, who did not have any other children after me due to complications while carrying me. she is lucky to be alive, and yet most say she should have sacrificed herself again for the good of corona.
sacrifice herself? i wish every morning when i wake that she did not have to sacrifice herself for me, let alone another child. my mother is growing in age, she would never survive another pregnancy, and i have refused her the right to do so, and so has my father. we care for her well-being, as opposed to those who want to force her unto labor, bring her breathing to none and watch her pass and wither before us in the hopes that we gain a man to pass down the von crona title.
forgive me, though, for smiling through it all, and letting only my eyes show what i am truly feeling.
because most do not look into a royal’s eyes. ❞
